SAS Day and a Dreamy Kitchen

I pretty much fell on this kitchen remodel tonight, and it just had to be shared. It moved me, simply put. See the befores…

Are you prepared for the after?  Yeah well, I wasn’t so I had to check. Here you go.

There’s a couple of reasons I’m so madly in love. #1. The white. You know how much I love white. #2. It actually looks like a realistic home. I’ve never been so in love with a home that had such a great kitchen without 14-foot ceilings and a whole wall full of windows.

It’s such a magazine-worthy kitchen without looking like it has to be in a magazine-size space. I LOVE that. I want to ask…do you think these are 8 or 9 foot ceilings? They’ve gotta be 9, right? Please tell me they’re 8. :)

If you’d like to see more, go visit Jenny Springer Photography. As you can see, she’s basically a photography blog, but she does offer a few design posts--this one being one of them.

Okay! Let’s see what everyone’s been up to! As you can see, I’ve been very busy checking out other people’s homes. Shocker, I know.

  1. Thanks for the linky-uppy! That kitchen is unbelievable! How is that even in the same house? I love it. So much. I'm going to stare at it some more now.....

  2. Based on the top of the fridge it is 8' tall ceilings. Most built-in fridges are 7' tall, then the cornice they used looks to be about a 3-4"...so from my professional opinion I am saying 8...but I have been wrong before, just don't tell my husband!!!

  5. I would say 8 foot also. If you look at the door in the picure, there isn't a lot of space above it before the ceiling, and most interior doors aren't quite seven feet in height...

So you might be in luck!!

  6. Love love love that kitchen. And I'm voting for 8-ft ceilings too, the doorway looks just like the ones in my (less cute) house ;)

  18. I design houses (plans!) for a living, so I can tell you that it looks like 8ft ceilings. Windows are typically at 7'-0", and it only looks like there's about a foot above to the ceiling

  20. We had 9-12 foot ceilings in our first house. Never realized how much I loved it until I moved into a house full of 8 foot.

    Thanks for hosting!

  22. I had to do a double take of that kitchen, I didn't think it was the same house! Gorgeous!

  23. I am in LOVE! Gorgeous and you are so right that it is achievable in a medium sized space. I'm guessing the ceilings are 8 feet, look at the door frame in the far left of the after, or in the before. They look like standard height doors. Thanks so much for sharing.

  24. Totally 8' ceilings; there's nothing over-sized/taller than a normal kitchen. WOW, what a kitchen!!! Makes me want to paint mine white!

    Thanks for the eye candy!

  27. What a jaw dropper kitchen!!! Really makes me want open shelving!

  28. That kitchen is fabulous! I love the open shelving and they really didn't lose any storage with that huge island and all that cabinets underneath. I agree that the ceilings are 8' looking at the door to the left. Amazing difference.

  29. The room is 8ft. based on the door. doors are 7' and there is about a foot above it to the ceiling. :)

  30. Man, I love your blog. The things you do and feature go so well with what I love to see.

We have a very small area for our future kitchen. That considered I have decided white is the way to go. I first wanted black counters and stainless steel, but I thought the fewer breaks in color, the bigger and more spacious it would look. I had already gotten used to the idea of white appliances, but after seeing these pics...gorgeous!

Talk to ya later! and thanks for all the inspiration.

  31. Oh, beautiful! I say 8 ft, too, judging from the counter height in front of the window. Standard base cabinet height is 3 ft, and you wouldn't be able to stack two more in the space above.

I sure do love to hear from you! Say hello!
