Okay. I work outside of the home, and for anyone in the same boat, I thought of a way to connect with my kids on the mornings that I leave before they get up. I saw these mailboxes (in their unfinished form) at Michael's about a year ago, and I knew they had to be mine.
If your kids are anything like mine, they LOVE to get mail! For my 5-year old, the messages are pretty simple. However, for my 8-year old's notes, I make sure to include spelling words from that week's list, as well as words that I think are at his level so he can read them. I made the mistake of putting a piece of candy in there around Christmas time, and neither one of them has let me forget it. I felt a little guilty about giving them a Smarty at 7 in the morning, so I left those out from then on! ;)
I bought these adorable little mailboxes for $1.00 around Valentine's Day, and I'm giddy just thinking about all the fun things I can do with them.
Aby at Creative Organizing apparently likes tin buckets and trinkets as much as I do, and look what she did with them for Valentine's Day for her kids! That's why I love blogging, people! Sooo much inspiration! (Is it ok that I linked her picture here? I don't know the rules on that stuff.)

OH - I LOVE it!!! So copying this idea! Just got my Michael's coupon in the mail today too. The boys are going to be beyond excited to "get mail."
How cute is THAT?? I love it!
Love it. My son used to be a total Blue's Clues fan. He had a mailbox and would love it if I left him a letter. Great idea!
