Karnas Hus

I'm supposed to be outside landscaping right now, but I try to blog every day. I didn't blog yesterday. How do you people take the weekends off? Anywho...this is a quicky, but ohhhh a goody. I found this blog who-knows-how, and I HAVE to tell you about it. I wouldn't normally do this, because I know we've all got our favorites (one of mine I refer to as "the Oprah"), but this blog is so phenomenal.

The only problem is that it's not in English!! Ack!!! I think it's Swedish? German? I'm dense. How would I know. I think I stumbled on a google translator-thingy (yes, there's a real name for it, but I just told you I'm dense) today that helps me read it, but I only had time to look at today's post.
Oh, hello beautiful house. You think this is good, you should see her view!!!!!!!!!!!!! She has all the sailboat pictures that I love, except that I don't live by the water. And I don't have a boat. And I've only been on a sailboat once. So...no boat pictures in my dining room.
I want those candle....uh...rectangles. WHAT ARE THOSE? They're gorgeous.
Here's the kicker. I think she or someone in her residence is American. Why, you ask? She's got the American flag strewn all over her house. It's framed, it's on blankets, it's on pillows--ev-ery-where, I tell you. My husband would roll his eyes at me for buying one of these throws, and she's got three of them! Niiiice.
Here's my point(s) (finally). I thought you should see her blog, because it really is awesome. I also want to let you know that I e-mailed her to inquire about speaking English, or if she offers her blog in a translated version. She never got back to me. Well, duh. She's probably got a restraining order against me as we speak. Got any favorite foreign blogs? How do you translate them?
P.S. I had a really hard time choosing which pictures to put on here, because the girl likes to include a lot of pictures. I love that. I need visuals! You'll see there's lots of eye candy when you go.
P.P.S. She found me. I'm nervous. Turns out she lives in Norway, and yes, she does have a restraining order against me.

Happy day and blog stalking! You better stop gardening and find your creative concealment for tomorrow. I'm counting on you to share your genius way of hiding electrical cords or garden hoses or something...don't let me down now. :-)

Happy day,

Thanks for sharing that one! It's so neat to see that people other than "us" like the same kinda stuff. I could so be her friend too! Susie H~

What a great blog you found!! I don't have any good foriegn ones that I read...unless you count Canada as foriegn... and I kind of don't. Until they spell things like 'colour' and 'favourite' all funny.

Oh. And Melissa at the Inspired Room is SO OPRAH! I agree!

Those are great photos! I came across a Swedish blog a while back that I loved for the same reason. I couldn't read a word of it but I just loved the pics. I wish I could remember what it was. I never bookmarked it.

Oh, I love Karna's Hus!! She found me last summer, and happily I thus found her! I love her style...so beachy and serene. Those Europeans sure know how to decorate!!

Your blog is so gorgeous, by the way! Your "blog spot" is way better than mine (mine is at the kitchen table), and I am a nighttime blogger as well, for the most part. There is always too much to do to blog during the day...especially in the summer!!

You totally crack me up - blog stalker. The Oprah...omg I am sitting here just laughing (yes, at you, I'm laughing at you!) I'm off to check her out (not like that) but that's just what I need - another blog to keep me online a little longer every night. Off to watch the trainwreck that is The Bachelorette!

I too love this blog. I read about 7-8 Swedish or Danish blogs. I notice that they almost all use American flags in their decorating. Oh and by they way they are all fabulous.
I just found your blog today so I will be spending the next few hours going through all of your post. I love how one blog turns you onto another and so on and so on and so on.

Love your blog....although I have no idea how I found you:) I also love this Norwegian blog and it was driving me CRAZY wondering what she was writing. So I googled foreign translater....and there it was right at the top of the google search, the answer to my frustration. I entered the blog address and it pulled it back up in ENGLISH!!! I jumped out of my seat and then hopped back over to leave this comment.

Oh here's the address:
www.translate.google.com
scroll down and you can enter the web address and it will open a new window with the whole blog in English. I know this probably makes Obama upset and he would suggest that we all study Norwegian, but hey I have blogs to read, I don't have time to study a foreign language.

Hello! I'm new to your blog and I love it! I didn't take the time to read all the other comments to see if someone answered your translation question, but there is a LOT easier way to translate a site than copying every paragraph into a translator.

Download the Google Chrome browser (like Internet Explorer or Firefox). When you go to a foreign website in Chrome, a little bar pops up that tells you what language it's in and if you want it translated. Click "translate" and the whole site is in English. Pretty good English too. It's that easy! Google Chrome is the ticket! :D
I'm gonna go find more of your tutorials now!
