The White (fictional) Room

Okay, I'm on a spending freeze. But have you BEEN to Hobby Lobby lately? They've got their home accents at 90% off right now! I know! Isn't that awesome? Well, I need to play the lottery or something because 27 must be my lucky number. I got all of the merchandise you see below for, you guessed it, $27.00!!

The frames were $7 and $8.00, and the fleur de lis stone thingies were $1.80 each! The big scrolly shelf thingy (yes, I know--very technical terms here) was only $6.00! I know it seems like kind of a hodge podge of items, but I plan on painting everything white-ish. We will someday finish our basement, and it will have another guest bedroom in it. I plan on making it my "project room".
See the frame? Yeah, it wasn't like that when I bought it. I dropped it bringing it in the house. I said some really bad words (over and over and over).
I gotta tell ya. I don't know how these women find all these beautiful pictures on the web because it took me, like, hours to find these! I thought I would give you an idea of the kind of room I'm going for, but good-ness. There was nothing. This is the closest I could find to what I want.

(cotedetexas.blogspot.com)
I want it feminine, but not prissy. I want shabby chic, but not too shabby. I would like aged, but not old. Why can't there be a picture out there to show that? This picture has all the colors I want, but it's a little too chic for what I'm going for.

THIS picture has the floors I want, but the chandelier is too much. Zebra chair? Doesn't belong in my dream room.
However, I will take this chair. Hello, love.
These windows? This rug? Oh. My. Me likey. I love how the colors are ever-so-subtle, so it still looks really fresh.

And, of course, we can't forget about the deal of the decade. I think the iron daybed will look just beautiful under bedding like below.
(potterybarn.com)Well, there you have it. My written daydream of my spending freeze purchases for a room that doesn't even exist. Whatever you do, don't tell my husband.

I'm dying over your deals lately! I want a Hobby Lobby. But the closest "craft" store to my house is 2 1/2 hrs away. Sigh.... I need to move....

Enjoy your awesome new finds in your imaginary room! I have about 3 of those rooms. Your not alone.

Oh, crying lady here!

We don't have hobby lobby here in PA but do plan to shop in one when I go to Arkansas in a week. I just hope and pray that they have those good stuff still there sitting waiting for me!

Fab fab fab finds! Can't wait to see what you will do with them.

You're my kind of girl in regarding to shabby chic stuff.
I like it white but there has to be "more" ooph to it, ya know?

I can't have it in my house, no way, no how with my dirty boys and a dog. I can only dream, can I?

I love it! I'm also in PA and we don't have a Hobby Lobby either...I sure wish we did though.

The rooms you showed are gorgeous although I usually am one who's big on color. I'll take the zebra chair...I love that!

OH!! I wish we had a Hobby Lobby here in WA. What great deals. I love the room pictures. White is so gorgeous and clean looking. I like the green with it too!

I could never have an all white room. We have 1 cat and 2 dogs. Need I say more?

Isn't it fun dreaming?

I hate spending freezes!! I m sure my hubby is going to put me on one soon too. I better go shopping tomorrow.

Hey Chris,
You make me laugh the way you descibe yourself and thoughts. I love all of your finds and I too have a limited "blow money fund." Last month it all almost was spent at Hobby Lobby. I too have imaginary rooms, a house full of them with closets and a dishwasher, front porch and tire swing!!:) One day though. I can live vicariously through my bloggy pals.

Great scores at Hobby Lobby, Chris.
And ALL the photos are fantastic. Truth be told, I even like the zebra chair. That's right! I said it! But my favorite things (other than your $27.00 daybed) are that little green stool and green ladder in the one photo. GOTTA HAVE EM! Scrumptious!

I do have one more question regarding prom before I go- are you wearing the tux, or am I?

:-)

Ooh, I almost bought that leaf looking thing on the wooden base that looks heavy but isn't. Great finds! And the white room? With kids? You are a brave woman. Love the look though and I still can't get over the daybed deal!

OMG..you are truly amazing in your Hobby Lobby finds. I can hardly believe it. I love all of them. Although, it hurt me to see the banged up frame. Bet you were upset to say the least. I love your white ideas for your project room. Your photos are gorgeous too. Decorating your new rooms is really going to be fun for you. PS, keep Maximus out!

I am counting the days before our Hobby Lobby is completed. The walls are going up now. HL better read all these ladies blogs and start putting up new stores in PA and all over the place. Us women are hungry for more!!!

I buzzed in there yesterday and picked up a couple deals. But things weren't marked down as low and it was slim pickings.

What are you doing with the frames? I never know what to do with those!

We are twins. I went to Hobby Lobby and got the same Fleur de lee? (oh my...you have spending freeze, I have brain freeze...spelling?)Not all the home accents were marked down thought, but the ones that were - 80%.I wish I just bought what you did. I couldn't fit all my stuff in my cart, and with my Good Will finds...house clutter is not happy. Got to get my walls painted so I can get those things on them. Love your dream rooms...those are exactly my tastes as well.

BTW,
I love Hobby Lobby! But we just moved to an area without one, so I am very envious of your awesome deal finds! Besides being a lover of interior design, I am a bigger lover of bargains!!

Guess who owns one of those very same fleur de lis stone thingies as you? You got yours a bit cheaper though. :o) Thank goodness I'm one of the lucky few that DOES live near a Hobby Lobby. Well...it's not close, but I make an exception.

Thanks for stopping by! I was just checking your blog out this morning after seeing a link at the Lettered Cottage.

I love those Hobby Lobby finds. You know where I'm headed after work!

As far as that picture on my blog... I wish it was my room :( That is the picture from the Lowe's website of the curtains I bought for my bedroom. But I agree, it's everything I would pick too!!

I just found you and love your blog. I am so going to Hobby Lobby TODAY! Just waiting or the baby to wake up. I did go a few weeks ago and got an awesome big white urn-y thingy. Trying to make it work my tiny ol' kitchen. Working on it!
Thanks for the inspiration! (As if I ever need any more inspiration to shop. My husband doesn't thank you.)
