Hmmmm...greenery

Well, I'm the first one to shout from the rooftops my love of all things "Nester", but I'm just gonna put it out there--I hate the name of her design linky thingy! So much so that I can't even bring myself to type it. I'm sorry, Nester. It's me, not you. I'm weird about that word (and a short list of others, if truth be told). If I can get past that, though, it's a great concept!

Some time ago, Nester asked what we thought about fake plants, greenery, flowers, arrangements, etc. I was in the minority, but I declared my hatred for all of them! Oops. Nester has a lot of readers, and I may have made a lot of enemies. Sooooooo...I thought I'd prove that even though I say I'm not a fan of them, there are some that I like (dare I say, love--every single one of Nester's being on that list).
I tend to be a fan of very natural looking greens or something that just looks like a dried green.
Sticks. I love them. Short, tall, bunched, you name it. This one is just waiting for a huge brown satin ribbon to go around it. For some reason, I must have used it and forgot to buy some more. Note to self: NEVER run out of brown satin ribbon!
Again...a version of sticks. Sticky looking thingies. It does soften the area just a bit.

I noticed that many of Nester's linkers used pictures of fall decor for their examples. I will admit that I use LOTS of floral, feather, greenery things during the holidays. However, I just consider that a given for most decorators. Holidays are a gimme, aren't they?
Well, I hope you enjoyed the tour. I understand it's a little shorter than some tours, but I hope I was able to prove that I, too, can hang with the "insert-name-here-that-I-can't-bear-myself-to-type" crowd!

I especially love the sticks that are all swirly and graceful...you know, the ones florists put in arrangements. Love those. I think I'm going to get some. ;)

Girl, you should be totally proud to be a POOPIE. LOL

I was going to say the same thing about the "name" but, I can't because then it would look like I was just brown-nosing. But, I can not, for the life of me, keep plants alive & so I have to rely on the faux. I am very picky though. And, of course, holiday fauxs are totally a given.

I'm not a fan of fake stuff either--I couldn't participate in the party because I couldn't come up with any fake stuff in my house other than my preserved wreath of wedding flowers that is in a shadow box.

Well, then I'm making a mental note to not ever use that word in a conversation with you:) I almost bought the same "greenery" in your first picture today at TJ Maxx. I went there to get the little witch like yours. She was just too cute to pass up. Of course I had to get another little scarecrow and other random things that I didn't NEED. Here's to hoping my hubby doesn't look too closely at the credit card bill:0)

My cat would have a FIELD DAY with those artificial grasses, and Maximus would DESTROY the sticks.
Can't we have anything nice!?

You have such pretty fakes. The stakes and the sunflower bundles are my favorite. You should stand proud and proclaim,"I am POOPIE, hear me roar!"

You have pulled off Poopie! Your greenery all looks very natural.

Fake or real, I think every house needs a little bit of nature inside. It would be great if it could all be real. It would be even better if the real stuff came with someone who would come to your house at least once a week and take care of it too.

I'm likin' you spooky day decorations! Is that a count down to the big day that you're making?!?

i generally will stay away from fake plants and flowers. i want the real deal but sticks and certain decor greenery might be okay.

I avoided that post completely. I refuse to go anywhere near that subject. I like curly willow and birch branches a lot. I *might* have one or two other fake things around but I am not fessing up.

I am a busy girl. I don't have time to water or feed anything else. This is why my children don't have a dog yet. So until I have time for that, I have to fake it a bit. With the plants. (Had to clarify what I fake) :)
