Is there medicine for this?

I have to admit it. I'm in love with glitter. The cheap glitter just isn't sparkly enough for me anymore. What's wrong with me? Have I become desensitized to its shimmer? I went to Michael's this week, and they had Martha's glitter 30% off! Let me make this clear--had I not just gotten off the phone with my husband, and his last words to me hadn't been, "Just remember, we're on a spending freeze this week." I would have bought every. single. bottle. Curse you, spending freeze!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought three bottles. My kids can go without dinner this week, right? Look what it did to this pumpkin!
She sits every so prett-i-ly under my cabinet lighting and shimmers her little heart out!

I couldn't stop there. Remember this project? Well, I had the chipboard frame left over from the letters, so I used them.Of course...that meant glitter.

Underneath my glitter witch.

I could go on and on, and I will--in another post. If you're tired of Halloween, you may have to come back in a while. I've still got over a week, so I'm going crazy with Halloween decor. I never realized how easy it is to make things spookified! I'll be back with more. Aren't you excited?! ;-)

I almost bought that exact glitter! I even held it in my hands and thought "I'd really like to have this" but I too had to curb my spending so I put it back. You have me thinking second thoughts ...

Love what you did with all that glitter. Everything looks great! Where is my creative spark these days???

Love it all. I must admit, I'm scared of glitter. I'm scared of the mess, it falling apart, of being everywhere. Yes, I love the look but I feel like I'm a glitterfob (is that even a word? if so, did I spell it right?)

That dog you love so much better be careful..... you just may get him with that glitter too! Love it~

I love the glitter! The "eek" frame is precious. But, of course the pumpkin is just perfect!

Those turned out great!!! And there's nothing wrong with soup & crackers for dinner once in a while. Remember Ramen noodles? It's cheap & filling.. I figure I'm giving my kids practice for when they get to college.

I love your glittery pumpkins. All you ladies do such creative fall crafts. I decided to go to the craft store and get some pumpkins and glitter last week. I am going to work on them today. Thanks for getting me in the mood!

I never am tired of Halloween, and am never tired of glitter - although I do tire of the mess. It seems glitter sheds every time my kids breathe the wrong way!

Oh, I love Martha Stewart's glitter! (If that makes me a glitter snob, I guess that's how it has to be!) I love what you did with it! The pumpkin is wonderful. I bought the last three paper mache pumpkins at Michaels a week ago and STILL haven't glittered them! I also really like the eek sign all glittered up! :)

I hope you have a great Monday! :)

Love the pumpkin! I tried to create a glitter pumpkin over the weekend and it totally bombed. I obviously used the wrong glitter...oops!

Oh my, I went to Michaels this weekend too and almost got the Martha glitter too. Ever since I saw your halloween bones with glitter, I fell in love.....

So the Wal-Mart glitter just leaves you feeling dull and um....dirty? Yeah, I don't blame you, it's not the same as the good stuff. I am on a spending freeze till Christmas. Try THAT. There will be a lot of soup at our house so I can squeeze in some fun extra's this year!.

I am loving that pumpkin - it's adorable. Do you need my address to send it to me?

A fully agree with your love of Great Glitter. Once you use the high grade stuff you can't go back. My girls and I make the beloved Martha glitter pumpkins each year. Just fabulous!
Off to find something in need of sparkle.

Thanks for visiting my blog! I LOVE all your posts and I always look forward to reading your blog! I too am a glitter girl--especially for Christmas. I swear once I put all my Christmas stuff away, I am cleaning up glitter for a month!

I guess I'm off to Michaels' to get some more!

I used a bottle of Martha's glitter for my wedding (actually it was that bronzy brown in the left of your photograph). I made my sis glitter whole sheets of cardstock with me and then punch out HUNDREDS of maple leafs from Marthas maple leaf punch. And bc I'm semi-anal, any spot that wasn't really glittered had to be touched up. She was so not happy with this loooong project. Haha, when it came time to decorate the reception hall, I totally forgot about the leaves and never used them. She almost killed me. :) MS glitter is the best!

So pretty! I love all the glittery Halloween decor! I LIKE glitter but never seem to get around to actually using it. lol I have an unopened bottle from a few years ago kicking around somewhere. :oX

Wow... did that pumpkin turn out nice. Like I'm always saying, a crafter must always have the correct "TOOLS" to do the job right. Tell Douglas you didn't hear him. Get right back over there and buy those suckers! Who knows when they will be on sale again. Don't you just love glitter? PS...what did you put on the pumpkin for the glitter to stick?

Well, I do have to admit that it's gorgeous! The only question I have is how hard is that going to be to clean up?! :)

I especially liked the "EEK" frame.

LOL I was seriously staring at the glitter today in Beverly's! Everything must be sparkly!!

Don't you just hate it when they tell you..."No Spending". I always think, "If you hadn't told me that, I probably wouldn't feel the overwhelming need to spend." Well I probably would, but those words just make the buyers remorse just that much stronger.

I love the sparklies. Nice job on your punkin and EEK!!! I'm sure you have all kinds of rainbows shining on your walls now. It's what the holidays are all about.

They all look terrific. I love a sparkle on just about everything. Great work and there may not be medicine, but have you heard of Dave Ramsey? Just kidding! You are hilarious and I love your ideas!

Last year I glittered up three pumpkins and they looked nice but NOTHING like your pumpkin. Apparently, sometimes you just have to spend a little more to reap the rewards. Good job!

Oh yeah...well guess who just got a part time job at the "House of Glitter" AND gets a 25% discount every single day of the week?

Yep.
I'm going to be sporting a black Michaels apron starting next week.

I don't know whether I should be depressed or ecstatic?

Oh man do I LOVE that Frankenstien!

I agree, the good glitter is worth it. At a sale price especially. Sometimes my kids eat a little glitter in their food... it's like fibre, if you look at it.

Stephanie said...

I bought that glitter too! But in silver. I needed it for a project and didn't end up using it so I was going to return it. I wonder what I could do with silver glitter? If you have any brilliant ideas let me know.

Love the pumpkin!
