One Holiday Down...

Well, my houseguest left at 4, and here I am posting just minutes later. I didn't want to wait too long to show off the Thanksgiving table, because I know you've all moved on. The turkey's been served, and the fall decorations are down. I have two trees up, but sooo much more to do. More on that in the near future. Until then, here's the Thanksgiving table.

One good thing about decorating last minute is that you find your garland for 90% off. I bought two garlands that were regularly $19.99. Nope. Not this cheap girl. I paid $1.80. I bought two of them...I'm too dumb to figure out how much that would be for two. I literally kept them wrapped the way they were out of the bag, wriggled them a bit, and called it good.

The kids, the dog, the husband and I went on a pine cone excursion in our backyard. I guess backing up to a forrest of pine trees has its perks! I stuck a candle and a bunch of mini pine cones in a vase for the centerpiece. Warms it up, I guess eh?
I know, I know. Where are the pears? We got hit with some major snow, and it just wasn't worth the 20 minute drive down there for them. I had some of this wheat as my back-up. I loved it. It was perfect--and it was only $2.50!

There's my mom in the background. While she was slaving away in the kitchen, I felt it was necessary to take another picture of the table. Gotta have your priorities, I guess.
Okay. Off to Christmas-fy my house! Right now it looks like a Christmas dumptruck just crashed into my living room. EEKS!

Chris, love your Christmas table. You always find the BEST deals! I have pics of my table, but the SD card doesn't fit in this laptop, and I'm too lazy to walk it over to the PC. Maybe tonight...

Can't wait to see your Christmas decor. (And I hear ya about the nemesis. We deal with cat hair around here).

Your table looks lovely! I love the garland and the wheat...so pretty. I am just finishing getting Christmas up - waiting for my stockings to come back to me, I finally had our names embroidered on them this year. (Because I need to know exactly which one is mine with the presents in it!) :) How did you make out on the BF sales?

I swear, as much as I can, I am going to start shopping after the Christmas/Thanksgiving sales for seasonal items-- gotta get it cheap! :)

Everything looks amazing, I can't wait to see it all decorated for Christmas.

Such a classy looking table! Love the wheat & ribbon on the cloth napkins! And all the candles & garland - beautiful!

I'm curious...since you don't have the food on the table do you have it on a buffet with everyone taking a plate & helping themselves or do you pass stuff around the table & then put the food back on the buffet??

Can't wait to see your house all Christmas-y!

Hey, Chris, glad you liked that picture tutorial & hope everyone can get their pics larger. I know I love it.

Your Thanksgiving table was beautiful! Love those pinecones. I've collected so many, it's a little overkill. I need to give some away. But, i do love the rustic natural look of them.
