Thanksgiving Reality

It's 10:00 at night, and I just got done looking at some 1/2 dozen of you showing off your table setting for tomorrow. Never one to be outdone, I thought I'd show you mine--at 10:00 at night.
It's like this for two reasons. 1. I'm not ready. 2. I'm a FREAK about dog hair. I'm afraid if I set it too early, the Nemesis's hair will float onto it before dinner. That's gross. Dog hair=gross.
I'm almost done. The turkey needs to be cooked, I need to shower, and I think the house could stand to be cleaned. What do you think?

You see the cellphone sitting there on the island? I haven't been called on that since, like, 1987 so don't go thinking I'm all cool and actually use it. I'd love to say this is just some nifty product placement for some advertisement, but this is how I work in my madness. Don't tell my mom. She's a big believer in "put things away as you cook so you don't have a mess", but I was cooking all day. I get a pass on that rule, right mom?
I don't know about you, but on Friday my mom and I will be doing this.
See the girl in the white hat and pink scarf? Yeah. That'll be me. I can't point out my mom, 'cause I run faster than her. She's probably in the back...crying. All in the name of shopping.
To make up for dragging her all over town at the crack of dawn (she doesn't know that yet), I'm taking my mom to see this...
Oh my dear heavenly love of all that is good. That's what Hugh does to me. I don't even make sense. Can't. wait.

Well...I'm off. In case you haven't noticed, I have a few things to do before dinner tomorrow. Have a wonderful and SAFE Thanksgiving, my friends. I hope your turkeys turn out and your bellies get full! Enjoy! See you in a couple of days!

At least you're thinking about what your table will look like. I just put my cheesecake in the oven...at 11pm :) So here I sit, catching up on blogs and eating chocolate chips out of the bag I just used to bake with. Have a happy turkey day!

Thank you for posting your pictures; it makes the rest of us feel normal. My kitchen looks the same (minus the great cabinets/countertop - love those!) Happy Thanksgiving!

It all looks great to me. The table, the food you are preparing, the shopping, and movie. If there were lots to eat and nothing out on the cabinets, then I'd wonder where the food came from or who made it????? A great cook always has a little of this and that on the cabinet. (even a cellphone)

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I make a pure mess when I cook! Thankfully I'm only in charge of making the sweet tea for tomorrow.

I can't wait to see your table when it is all set!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey, Chris! Enjoy your Thanksgiving. My turkey is cooking right now, so I'm free for a couple hours. Don't get run over in those crowds on Friday!

I get a free pass this Thanksgiving, going to my in-laws, and looking at those pictures just gav me a panic attack. I am the hostess that stays up most of the night before trying to get it perfect. Hope everything turns out wonderfully for you. Happy Thanksgiving!

You are funny. I never use my cell phone either. I just can't think of other ways to spend $25 every month. (!) I am seeing Australia next week with only 35 of my friends (1/2 the group) I cannot wait! And I am still laughing about "your" shopping photo. Obviously that kid in the green up front is a newbie, he should know NEVER LOOK BACK! Just RUN!! I'm going all for the love of a Big Wheel and $8 saved for iced mochas in my pocket. I'm dragging my dad along for use of his handicap parking pass. I never said I had morals.

Happy Thanksgiving to you friend! I am grateful you started a blog!

I was sitting here racking my brain trying to figure out your cellphone comment. I totally can't read and kept thinking you were talking about cellOhphAne. It was so confusing me! Why is someone calling her out on her cellophane? Is it un-eco-friendly? Who would call her out about that?? It was so confusing me. Then my brain climbed back into my head and I realized that you were talking about your cellphone. Good gravy.

The pink hat lady...oh man, loved the face on that woman. She knows she's getting some deals!! Happy shopping and turkey day!!

Okay, so I nominated you for an award. It's a super scribbler one and I gave it to you bc girl, you just make me laugh. And I am usually at a library when I blog/check blogs so it's sort of embarrassing laughing at a screen. By myself. I get weird looks. So thank you. :o)

Ha, ha, ha!
That's so what my kitchen looked like cooking the day before and on Thanksgiving! I even decided to organize and clean out my lazy susan cabinet in the midst of it all which added to my MESS! What in the heck was I thinking?!? Clearly, I wasn't!
Hope you're finding some GREAT deals today and that the movie is awesome for you and your Mom.
Happy Friday~ Les

Beautiful kitchen. I had to laugh when I read the first part about table settings...with moving, my dining room table is upside down on a picnic blanket pushed to the side for the movers to move in the antique china hutch this morning.

Hope you ended up having a great Thanksgiving:) We too did the Black Friday shopping. Left the house at 3:30am and didn't get home until about 9pm! I'm still spent!
I'm not really a Hugh Jackman fan but I finally made it to see Twilight last week so now I've got Robert Pattinson at the top of my list:) There is just something about him!

I love that shopping picture! Too funny :) I did the early shopping last year but couldn't pull myself out of bed this year. Oh well, I'll just pay more like the rest of them!

I like your Thanksgiving table. I went and saw Australia...Hugh's hot but it was a little cheesy. The group I was with didn't like it, I was the only one that needed the cold shower afterward. :)

I have that same coffee machine! She is my baby, I don;t know what I would do without her. You crack me up with the comment on Black Friday shopping. Sounds just like me and my mom. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving. God Bless!
