Since I'm still on a high from all your compliments over the garland, I figure I'll show the tree now. I may not know much, but I do know that my blog friends are so nice! Well, here she be...
A couple of years ago, I decided on the "all red with touches of green" tree. Is it bad that we theme our trees? Well, that was all fine and dandy, but it started to seem too fancy to me. I keep it in a pretty casual room, and my love for naturals started to get jealous.
My tree is perhaps the one thing that doesn't get much attention at Christmas. Trust me on this one...I've seen some of your trees. I decided what better way to naturalize a tree than to add some burlap? I bought three yards of it for a total of $3.28. I cut it into rather large strips and tucked it in there.

Merry December!

Burlap! Such a good idea! Love it!
Who knew burlap could look so nice in the tree! Looks great!
Ha! We think alike. I lurrve me some dollar store ornaments. The stripped burlap is GENIUS!
I love using burlap but I never thought to use it on the tree. What a great idea! I must try that next year.
Very pretty Chris!!
Love the burlap... I'm taking notes for next year.
Blessings
I am so in LOVE with burlap lately. I have been doing so much with it. I have a burlap runner on my dining room table right now. I think it is just the perfect accessory to everything!
LOVE it! Especially that burlap... the perfect touch!
Beautiful tree Chris..and I don't think it looks IGNORED rofl! I did the same thing with burlap BUT took strips of it and tied it to branches all around. cherry
Born and bred in Australia, it would be simply amazing to experience a white Christmas.
As Australia is renown for its stinking, hot, weather at Christmas time, and yes,it is true, we are planning on having a "Seafood BBQ" lunch for our family.
I love sticky-beaking how the other half of the world live !!
Congratulations on a beautiful garland. Best wishes to you and your family for a gorgeous Christmas.
Best wishes from "Down Under" - Andrea
Sticky beaking. I think I am in love with that term (never heard of it!)

I am so so so jealous! The Man wouldn't allow a tree that pretty in our house because where would he put his gajillion Notre Dame ornaments? Le sigh. Maybe next year I'll let him have his own tree so I can have something like yours!
Love the burlap.... And red on the tree is my absolute favorite. There's an Evergreen Extravaganza today at The Southern Family, won’t you share your tree with us???
"My tree is perhaps the one thing that doesn't get much attention at Christmas." Wha??? Okay, My anorexic little tree just fell in love with your tree!! I love it! Love the burlap and the red snowman ornament!!
I love your tree! So pretty! The whole room looks so cozy and festive!
Loving your decor Miss Chris!

That burlap looks great! I think it goes very nicely with the red and green. I love mixing natural with glitzy. :)
The burlap is a nice touch. I especially like your "word" ornaments: joy and hohoho. Thanks for sharing!
I'm lovin' this tree! If that is your idea of an 'ignored' tree I'd really hate to see what you would call a 'non-ignored' tree. Haha!! Beautiful!
It's beautiful, Chris!!!
I love that I have some of the same ornaments that you do...I feel like part of the club, haha!
Merry Christmas!
Bella
awesome idea! love the burlap- beautiful tree!
Chris, I love your tree! I constantly struggle with my need and love of glitz with my also love of naturals, so I try to strike a balance of both. So far I think it's working pretty well.
Thanks for all the great comments you leave too...you're so fun!
Looks really pretty! I like the burlap a lot. I add red roses (yes they're fake but look really natural) and in the past I added real baby's breath and it looked great. I subbed red berries this year instead...more cost effective on a 9 foot tree but anyway, the burlap is a very clever idea.
I'll be posting pictures of my trees soon. Stop by!
Your tree is very pretty! I love it!!
It's very pretty! Everyone has such different styles and decor, but all of the trees are just so beautiful! I love them!
I would have never thought to add burlap to my tree but it looks gorgeous on yours! Might have to borrow that idea next year if you don't mind? Thanks for sharing such a clever little tip! Happy Holidays!
~Des
Love your tree! Thanks for showing it off today at Evergreen Extravaganza!
Are you kidding me?! This tree is gorgeous! LOVE the combo of the glitz, pinecones, and burlap. I mean, I REALLY love it!!!
Don't you just love tree's with a theme. Ours is just a mish-mash of different ornaments, I long for a tree to tie our living area together. I used to work in a gift shop and the trees were always so much fun to decorate there.
Ahh-someday I'm sure.
BTW...the burlap was a great idea, it instantly changed the tree! Love it!
Oh.my.goodness! This is so pretty! Truly, that photograph of your whole room -tree and garland and fireplace- could be a Christmas card. All you need to do is write "Merry Christmas" in a scripty font in the left hand corner. Gosh, gorgeous! I so am snagging that burlap idea for next year!
I LOVE it! I think it's gorgeous! And the burlap, you're SO SMART!
Chris your tree looks wonderful and that garland if fabulous! I love the colors on your tree.
Have a great weekend
julie

I think theme trees are much easier and more stress free for some reason. But, that could be b/c i do the same theme every year :)
Love the burlap idea. It would work perfect with MY tree theme.

I love your tree. The burlap was a nice touch. I also liked your garland. The feathers are my favorite. Everytime I but them, my boys take them to put in their colonial hats.
The burlap in the tree looks great! Something I never would have thought of but look at you pulling it off :)
Your decorations for Christmas is superb. You should be a designer. The blend of the natural burlap with a beautiful tree that is NOT ignored in the least. Really is so lovely. You deserve to be proud of it. Georgeous to say the least.
