I put one thing up for 4th of July this year. One. Shame on me. Right now, I’m trying to convince my husband that we need some flags or buntings outside. He never quite seems to be on the same page as me. Go figure.
Don’t you just want to sit on the front porch of this house and watch a parade go by? The house below is so much like mine…I really love the buntings hanging from the windows!
Wow. I want to be on that balcony. And I want Jude Law to kiss me goodbye on it. Anyone see Cold Mountain? You know what I’m talking about!
I LU-HUVE this look. A street lined with cottage bungalows adorned with American flags. Perfection.
I love everything. The paneled flag hanging in the back, the brick of the house, the old mailbox…dreamy!
I hope you had fun getting into the 4th of July spirit with me! Hopefully, I can get a little more creative before the big day!

Those houses really go all out for the 4th, don't they?!
We don't put up much for this holiday either. Don't feel bad.
Don't you just love those! Can I have those decorations (do they come with the house too)??! :)
You have the most adorable blog!!
I love the flags and banners and such. I usually only buy the small ones and stick them in my potted flowers. I did look for a bunting at wal~mart but didn't see one.
Thanks for sharing!

I'm big on holiday decorations for every other holiday but never give the 4th much decorating thought...wonder why that it.
My girls did make the cutest July 4th flower arrangements today at the Library's summer reading program that Mommy immediately displayed...that counts right?
I love these decorations! Thanks for sharing!
Great inspiration!
~Happy 4th to you. :)
yep, we always reside on these in our dreams :)
I put a red, white and blue ribbon on my front door and bought some mini flags to put around the house. That's it though. I love all of these porches!!!
love love love it! So american, ("duh") so homie, so proud!
I am with you, I love it all.
You would think with my honey now in Iraq, I would have some patriotic theme going on but I don't. I mean like none other than my blue star flag in the window. I need to work on this.....
Thanks for sharing.
Our city has a "courthouse square" and historic district since we are the county seat. The houses in the historic district have huge porches, sun rooms and patios, and they all are dressed up to the nth degree for the holidays like the pix you posted. Love it.
I love these too. wow they look nice! So crisp & old time patriotic. lemonade is so needed while looking at these.
Fun!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of those pictures. I am ashamed to say I have never invested in buying buntings for the 4th of July or extra decor.
Unlike Christmas it seems to really only be celebrated the few days before or the day of (at least where I live) so I have not been able to get myself to spend the money.
I do love looking at homes like this where the people go all out.
Just beautiful!
Patriotic and perfect ! Love those houses... and the Fourth !
Ooh, I loved checking out all the patriotic houses! I just love that look, too! I have buntings for our house, even though it really isn't the right style for it.
Gorgeous homes and I loooove all the red, white and blue. Thank you so much for the pics.
Lately, i have been seeing so many of those round or half round flags.
They used to be all over the with wrap around porches. To bad we went to no porches as I do miss them. It was like another room.
I enjoyed your post and your pictures.

wow I love the patriotism, I'd so like to make it to the States around the Fourth holiday
Do you have a July 4 parade in your town? We lived in Hillsdale, MI for seven years, and the 4th of July parade was one of our favorite events. We had friends who lived right on the parade route, so they had a parade-watching party every year. So much fun. . . makes me want to visit Michigan in July. No one would want to go to an Independence Day parade in North Carolina. You'd melt!
I love them all. I don't decorate much on the inside but we do have flags and buntings outdoors.

Lovely pictures! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, those houses are gorgeous and so festive. Thanks for the tour.
Your one thing up on me. Does it count that I won't even be home for the 4th? :)
chris what great porches some great ideas!
have a happy 4th
julie
Patriotism is fantasitically alive in your post! I love everyone of these porches. Would they be fun to sit on just one time?
And yes, Judd Law could kiss me on ANY porch! hahha
Happy 4th darlin.

BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for getting me into the spirit. I must go buy something! :-)
Love those homes! What an inspiration to us all to remember just how important this holiday is. =) Ever since 9/11 we have flown a flag on our front porch EVERY day of the year. Many of our neighbors do as well. Wouldn't it be nice to see all of America doing that again?!! =)

Great pictures... I don't do anything for the 4th. We are always away. Thanks for sharing.
Great shots. They are all so pretty and inviting.
I just love the look of bunting. This time of year I am desperate to be in the States because I love the Americana look so much. I don't think they'd take to kindly to me here if I hung an American flag outside....
Gorgeous gorgeous images...nothing like an American flag adorning an antique home. Perfection!
Really enjoyed the patriotic porch pictures. How beautiful. I have quite a few 4th decorations actually, but where in the world do people find those LONG draped Americana panels??? I've never seen anything remotely like that here. Jo-Ann's fabric store??? anyone in blog land know?
Mom
Wow I love it. I love bunting and have a two story that they would look perfect on. Great pictures. I always enjoy coming to your blog and seeing what you are doing!
Great pictures.
Blessings,
Debbie
I love that look. Not many people in my immediate neighborhood decorate like that....and I should start the tradition. I traveled to a coastal community a few hours south of Houston and many of the old neighborhoods were decked out. LOOOOVE that look! Thanks for sharing your pics...and I'll keep my fingers crossed about the Jude Law thingee.....that would be AWESOME!
Love the pictures. I put out a flag and a tiny little flag. I now am thinking of getting a little flag for my little flag holder. Maybe a few smaller flags too. Love your blog! Nancy from OHIO
Hello, Love your blog,
I made some flag garland for my porch, check it out at joysthoughtsandthings.blogspot.com
Have a great day.
Joy
my husband is the same way. what's up with that? drives me nuts i tell you. he'll install hardwoods, take down a wall, etc but ask him to put up a decoration...
so my fav was the 2nd pic. that is EXACTLY what i would love to have. just tastefully patriotic enough for me. now i feel like driving around and finding some good examples. unfortuanately i think the majority of us are in the same boat with UHS (uncooperative husband syndrome). TFS
I was lame at decorating this year too. But man those gorgeous houses make me want to spruce mine up a bit!
I love this decorating, but I just never seem to get to it! Halloween and Christmas I have covered, but this gives me inspiration.

I love these houses! So Patriotic!! Happy 4th of July to you!!
Hugs,
~Victoria~
Beautifully decorated porches. We are having a 4th of July porch decorating contest; please send us a pic if you decorate your porch!
I like the fourth house the most. It's very reminiscent of the White House. I can just imagine Pres. Obama sitting on one of the chairs.
I love these! We just put our flag out, which is saying a lot...we usually forget to hang it! : )
So pretty - I was lame in the 4th decorating dept this year.
ps...you can kiss Jude if you go for sloppy seconds. He is SO mine.
Love this post! Houses are sooo special when they are decorated for patriotic holidays! Thanks for sharing! susan
