Oohhhhhhh how I wish I could convey the ugliness of this table. I stupidly forgot to take a before picture. Picture it as it is below, but add about 7 coats of white, green, and pukish red to it. Got that in your mind?
I have stripped furniture before, but this one just about broke me. It took forever. I kept saying, “It was only $9.99. It was only $9.99” to remind myself of its worth. Yes. I said $9.99.
I had it sprayed with the leftover paint from the lockers so there would be continuity in the room. I wanted it to be VERY neutral with some sparkle.
The lamp—which currently sells for $39.99 at Target was purchased at Goodwill for $12.99. It still had the Target tags on it! My only regret is that there were two of them, and I only bought one. Dar!
The silver bowl was bought for $1.99 at Salvation Army, and I bought the glass balls on clearance at Target for $2.49.
Okay, so the big money here was spent on the pearled vase. I did get it half off, however. It was $24.99 at Hobby Lobby and totally worth the “splurge”.
The lampshade was purchased at Wal Mart for $15.00, and I had the glass vase and beads already on hand. There you go! A little breakdown of my new best friend—with lots of pictures, because that’s what you do when you’re in a relationship.
Some people have asked if I had the lockers custom built. Yes, I did. I drew on paper what I wanted, showed him various pictures, and our contractor made it happen. Someone even asked if my husband built them. THAT made me laugh. A lot.

I, too, found a stacked acrylic ball lamp at good will! Mine was 5.00 but it's very old and needs a new cord. I had to clean it up and buy a new shade, but I LOVE it! The base of my lamp is a little more vintage than the Target version. Great job with the table, it looks gorgeous!!
Very nice! I love the lamp!
I frequently find Target merchandise at Goodwill. Some merchandise that is still on the shelves at Target in fact! Nice work as always Chris. I especially love the Hob Lob splurge.
I love how the table worked out and the lamp was a super deal! You rock!
Your table looks like it was worth ALL of the effort. Great lamp find!
Wow, this turned out great!
Oh my!! This is the cutest corner ever!! I LOVE that table!! How amazing!!
So bright and happy!!!
Wow!!
I love it!! :)
First, I am amazed at your paint job. Well done. Second, I need to shop where you shop!
Beautiful job.
It is gorgeous!!! Fabulous job on the table! I love the neutral theme! I love that vase too!!
Next question, what color are your walls behind it? I am looking for a soft neutral color and that one is drawing me in! :)
I LOVE it all!!!!
You are the most industrious girl I almost know! I wish I had your energy!
fantastic job! love everything about it...the look, the price...it's perfect!
Soo, soo pretty! Love it all together!
i love how stinkin expensive lampshades are. i stumbled upon a pair after months of looking for 49 cents each and broke into tears. i too am notorious for not taking the before pictures.
That turned out great. I love the balls in the silver bowl.
this may sound silly, but what kind of white paint did you use? it looks great!
Looks great! I cannot believe you found that lamp at Goodwill and then left it's partner there! I have been wanting lamps just like that for a long time but don't want to spend the money. My Goodwills never have cute lamps, they have things that look like they would have been ugly in 1974! You lucked out.
The whole mud room looks fantastic!
Another great makeover! I'm currently sporting black oil based freckles because I was so motivated by your back door photos I started my own makeover. We shall see if I get equally marvelous results.
BEAUTIFUL! L.O.V.E. the lamp.
Wow you are a magician...
Nice table and accents on it.
Oh I wish you could be my personal shopper extrordinaire.
I actually have 2 of those Target lamps and I hate to admit it, but I paid the $39.99:o I love them, but I think $12 would have made me feel a whole lot better. Your table looks fabulous.
I love it all. You got some great bargains. Mimi
You are amazing and I want to go shopping with you and be your BFF! I came across your blog through a friend of mine. And, well, you have inspired me to start decorating my house after only living in it for 2 years now! Took me long enough right? I just haven't wanted to spend the money but now that I know I can do it super cheap I am all about it. I am constantly on Craigslist, going to thrift stores and trying to make my own decorations. So, I thank you for the inspiration and guidance to finally decorate my house and make it mine! Your the bomb!
You win "The bargain shopper of the year" award. It all looks so classy Chris!!! Way to go!
You did such a great job on that table! Your mud room looks fabulous!
Can I borrow you for about a week to redo my house... I need a new look.
Wow, it looks great! I love everything you put on the table adn the pearlized vase is just perfect! Don't you just love Goodwill? I got a chandelier for $4.99 once. A chandelier!
It looks fantastic! I love the makeover and all of the items you chose.
It looks beautiful! you did such a nice job of decorating the table and the table looks fab all by itself!
I think I'm going to the thrift store today. You're killing me with your posts! LOVE 'EM!
Looks wonderful!!! Wow..you would never know it was ugly at one point.

STUNNING! Just enough sparkle. I love it and it looks fantastic.
It's all darling! But that lamp is sooo fab!
Love that table and all the goodies on it.
You have more patience than I would have had, by stripping all of that paint off! I would have taken the easy way out and just sanded, primed and painted!
But yours turned out truly amazing!
I like your site so much! And, I love how you tell everyone how you found these beautiful and cheap items!!!
I love the table! I seriously need to start stalking the thrift stores and yard sales more often because I never seem to find these great pieces to make over. I am getting lots of inspiration from your projects!
Check out my blog...there is an award there for you!
Amazing deals, amazing talent, amazing decorating! I wish I had your luck and your talent...

Oh what a fantastic job you did on the table.
I am currently working on a chair but my chant is "It was only $20." Still I scrape and sand. :)
There is just something about finding things u love for a deal. Is there really anything better? Ok-how about everytime you find a great deal-you lose 5 pounds. Crap-I would be so skinny you wouldn't even be able to see me! Ahhh-dreams!!
So pretty! I'm glad to see your project with the table b/c I am fixing to revamp a chair myself!
Go check out my blog and sign up for my giveaway! :D
So lovely! Headed to Goodwill today. And to think I payed full price for those lamps when you got them for 12.99! I wish I could have found them at that price first!! Keep up the inspiration for us all!
I can't wait to show this post to my mother. My mother who....hates target. I know. How I haven't written her off completely, I have no idea.
I like everything!A fantastic atmospere!Bye from Italy

Simply Gorg!! :)
Isnt it fun when great finds find new homes and look 10K times better. I am sure they are so happy! (lol just ask em ... i bet they will say "of course!")

She's just lovely! I'm impressed that you saw the lines of the table for what they were and knew that a little paint (and some hard work) would turn her into such a gorgeous mud room addition.
You have me wishing I could find an old table with a bazillion layers of paint on it. Props to you though, I probably would have just added a new layer of paint on top of what was already there. Ultimately beautiful results...I'm almost jealous.
HOW FAB. love it! its great to re-furbish furniture and see the end results. I love the lamp!
Love how you put it all together. The table look wonderful, love the shape.
I tried to go to Goodwill - once. Real love means never having to shop in the "pack a gun in your purse" side of town. Love the table Chris..it totally looks like you. You should take a picture of you with your table, you know for when the relationship hits rough times later on down the road.
Look what a little hard work can do! Beautiful. And the lamp, and the vase, and the bowl, all perfect! I wish I had this mudroom with all the fixins. It looks great!
Classic, simple, beautiful! (plus what looks like some hard work!)
Loving that gorgeous pearlised vase!

That's beautiful! You got some GREAT deals.....and the end product is gorgeous. Now...the only thing you DIDN'T include was how much you spent on "paint stripper"..and with all those layers of paint you must have used a lot. LOL! Do you have a particular brand you like to use?
That's the same shade I just got for my lamps a couple weeks ago! Don't you love it? I do!
I loooove your entry way, it's gorg. I'm extreeeeemely jealous. Sorta hate you. :)
You WOW me!! Stripped the table, painted it, accessorized and bargain hunted too!! Is there anything you can't do??
XX-Gina
Everything pulled together very nicely. Designer look on the Goodwill Boutique budget!
WOW...I have to shop at my thrift stores more often...that table looks gorgeous now!!!
Im new, wanted to say HI and that I just love your blog...so glad I found ya! :) :) :)
I too forget to take before pictures. The lamp was such a good deal! At our goodwill it seems that they sell things for more than they would be new at their original store haha. I think the vase was totally worth the $ because it's beautiful and very eye catching. I love what you did here!
I love it!! I have to ask, what brand and color of paint do you have for the wall & trim? I love it!!
Great job on the table. Looks wonderful. Love the tablescape too.
Your mudroom is fantastic.
What a cute little corner you created. The table and accessories are all beautiful.
I feel like a stalker. I love coming to your blog to see what new things you are doing! Your home is beautiful and I have to say your mudroom is by far my most fav to date. I have tried before to strip tables and redo them and mine have never turned out as super cute as yours did! WEll Done! I'm just waiting for the day Good Housekeeping comes and wants to do a spread on your beautiful place!!!
wow, I love that!! I think I need to go to Good Will to see what I can find!
You did a great job on the table!
Girl ..........that is one funky fresh make over! LOVE the white...and I officially have mudroom envy..........dang! cherry
so so so so pretty! I am sure your house is amazing.
A few of my local Goodwills get Target returns so there is a lot of good selection of Target items there! Never the awesome lamps though! You lucked out, that lamp is beautiful! Great look! It looks like you spent hundreds, we would have never known otherwise hadn't you told us!
What a great job you did on this, it is so beautiful!!! Sharon
You did an awesome job!
everything looks so chic! great job.
That is cool looking! ;)
Gorgeous! I just attempted to strip my son's picnic table yesterday to repaint it and ended up with a not-so-stripped table and a HUGE blister. You are my hero!
Just found your blog...it's so fun! I am all about a good deal too!
