Original title? No. However, I’ve got a fun project for you! I went to JoAnn’s the other day, and they were having a mega-sale. I wasn’t even going to buy anything, but I went into a frenzy when I saw everyone grabbing things and running for the registers.
I snatched up a couple of these cone trees (on sale, of course) and some yarn (1/2 off). I had no idea if the picture in my mind would turn out, but I wouldn’t be out too much money if it didn’t.
So, I hot glued, I twisted, and I turned all while I watched my husband put pizza rolls in the oven cook dinner.
I must admit. They look pretty nice in their new home.
I bought the chunkiest yarn I could find ‘cause I knew I’d want it to have a lot of texture to it.
Oh sure, they’re not perfect by any means, but they sure were an inexpensive way to fill a space that I had been struggling with.
Not bad considering they’re underneath my $2.00 burlap window treatment and my $2.00 plant from Lowes. Now I’m on the hunt for something little to fill that blank space on the wall.
Hmmmm…always something, right?

OMG Chris these are gorgeous!! I am totally gonna have to make these. Thanks for sharing!!
Okay that is SO weird. I literally just cleaned the glue off my hands from making one of these! I am going to start an etsy store of Christmas decorations, and these are one of my products. I made some garland out of thin wire, silver beads, and shells and wrapped that around, as well.
I saw these same things at Joann's and thought, "Who'd ever buy that!" Shows you what I know! They are incredible.
what on earth did I ever do without you ?
Great idea! You amaze me!
Those are cute! I really like them and they go really well in that space!
I think they are cute and look great. I just had to tell you that I always save your blog for the last one that I read... cuz it's like dessert...my favorite.
I know too weird...but so the truth!
Absolutely ♥ them Chris!! Gorgeous!
girl, I love 'em!! I'll never look at naked cones again! haha
I love those- they are super fabulous!
These are darn cute... once again..cute as a bug..
Love them! What a fabulous idea!!
They are so cute! For the wall, can i suggest a long narrow rectangular frame, with some leaves on a creamy checked fabric?
I love them! Perfect accent at the RIGHT price. I love the texture it gives to your space too.
You know what the cool part of this is, you can add things to the trees for Christmas! Very cute idea and they look great!
What a cute and clever idea! They look great.
I love them! I had no idea a person could even buy cardboard cone forms!
Girl, that's fantastic! Great idea...I'm surely impressed :)
Never in a million years would I have thought to do that! Thanks for sharing!
These are adorable. Thanks for sharing!!! Love & blessings from NC!
They add a nice texture to the space. For the area you want to fill, maybe consider covering a mat with a colored burlap and framing an inexpensive print. You can find free art at Vintage Printable or the Vintage Moth.
Always something . . . so true. Love the texture!
Ooh those are great!!!
They look great! I would like to use these to make something for the coming holiday season...
You know what would be kinda funny on that wall? A ceramic tile with $2 (in a cool font) painted on it :)
Love the cones!
They turned out great!!!!!!
Ooh! So cute. My husband made pizza rolls last night too. Unfortunately, I did not make super cute yarn trees!!
very cute!!!!! have you considered a vinyl saying or vinyl picture for that empty space? that might look really cute!
Very cute!
thank you! i have a "cone thing" that i really didn't know what to do with that i got at a thrift store. i've moved it all over the house trying to find it a home, but now i realize i can change the style and make it so much better to fit right in.
I like those! I am writing down these supplies to make my own. That would match my formal living room. Thanks for sharing this.
I love the trees! I might even try making some! Thanks for sharing your idea.
What an easy and super cute projet!
Chris these are great!
I love the way you did them because they are not just for Christmas. I have been wanting to do cone trees but I was thinking Styrofoam and Christmas scrapbook paper, this makes me think of going in a whole different direction!

Those looks great. I love the yarn you chose. I've got to get back into crafting!
So Awesome! You are the most creative person ever! I love these!
I want to make some for Christmas! I think a cute little fleur de leis (?) on the wall.
You are way to creative! I would have never in a million years thought to put that together! Love how they turned out and how they look on the shelf!
Love them! Very cute. I don't know how you come up with these things, but so glad you do! :) I think they look great there.
love it! I was just thinking of doing this same project but I was going to use twine - good job! I covered them with garland for christmas before too.
Oooh, I love those! Most of my "vignettes" (such a fancy word :)) seem to lack something tall and those are perfectly tall and texturey. Love that yarn!
i've been looking for cone trees for the past few days to do something very similar! these look great :) i don't think we have a jo anns here - i'll have to keep searching.
west elm is selling something very similar at west elm prices.
love yours!
How fun and simple...perfect for a Fall "table"!

So simple...but yet...soooo cute! I love the idea you had here...thanks soooo much for sharing.
Blessings,
Linda
Love them!!! Gorgeous!!!!
What a great idea! I think I might try it with the white fringe yarn for Christmas. Thank you for another great idea!
Neat idea! I really love the texture the wool gives those cone trees...makes them look more natural...er organic... :)
I like them. I am very much coming into the neutral colors part of my life. I just need simplicity and neutral is visual simplicity without being boring.
BTW, I am preparing to make your cute handsoap/hand sanitizer bottles for Halloween today. We are taking them to my Aunt for a present (along with an assortment of other halloween goodies) for being such a great hostess to us this weekend.
What a great project. I love the price and they look great in their new home!

Chris I love checking in with you to see what you're up to next. So very creative. I posted about you and your awesome blog today. Go check it out! Thanks for inspiring me.
I totally can related. Something must be in the air at Joanns. I love the end result though, like the height.
I LOVE these. Where did you buy them?
These are very cool!
Hi Chris!!! I loved these soooo much that I totally copied you!!! I went to My Hobby Lobby store(being my JoAnns did not have them) and snatched the tree cones right up, and also the chunky yarn, and got right home, turned the hot glue gun on, and got to town... I love these so much, and my little girls especially loves them... I needed alittle extra cuteness to my freshly painted table at the top of our staircase... Thank you very much for another grande idea!!!!

Hi, my son and I are making one of these and we'll link to your article on our blog - thanks!
These are so pretty! I'm thinking I might have to make a few in super bright colors. I'll be linking, thanks SO much!
I love them!
I've been contemplating a tree project for some leftover styrofoam cones I've got rattling around the craft room (I guess they really don't ::rattle:: considering they are styrofoam...you know what I mean.)
How adorable...one of my next projects!
Very nice! You know what, now that the holidays are coming up, you can turn those cone heads to miniature Christmas trees! Just an idea. :D
