Apparently, having no power for a couple of days really puts a damper on your blogging. And your showering at home. Rough week, to say the least. After staring at a blank tree for 5 days, we finally finished it!
Speaking of “snow”, this is what we woke up to this morning. Yes, that’s 10 inches of it. Overnight. That meant snow day for me!
When I got the call at 5:22 this morning, I felt:
Not only does my tree speak to me, but it speaks for me. Now if only I could get it to do some laundry…
Oh sure, it’s pretty to look at. Just wait until you have to go to the grocery store. Not so fun at that point.
Hope you’re having some better weather than we are!

Beautiful! I am so jealous that you had a snow day. That rarely happens to us teachers in TN..and when it does there is rarely snow!
Snow day!!! love the tree, and that snow, compared to the little bit we got today is amazing. But days without power????? BRRRRR........
Suzanne
Your tree looks great! Laundry AND cooking ~ add that to the list! The snow looks great, but I hate driving in it. We are supposed to get a mess here tomorrow.
you have a beautiful tree!
THAT TREE IS GORG! AND JUST AS GORG.. AS THAT winter wonderland. I hear you on the grocery store, and even shoveling.... NOT SO GORG! have a great night!
Joy for a teacher for sure! Except the grocery part that is.
Ours wasn't quite as bad but we did get some last night. Yuck.
Love the tree though, so pretty!

How beautiful! We are suppose to get a "dusting" of snow overnight, but it will not be as beautiful as yours is. Your tree is gorgeous. Hope you have a great weekend!
Wish we could get some snow here in South Carolina! Oh, it's happened before, but more like a dusting.:)
Glad you're back blogging. Hope you have a good weekend.
The San Francisco area is a bit cool but no snow, of course. Your pictures are spectacular. I am glad I am not living in that, though. I cannot imagine trying to get out and about in that kind of weather...I remember what it's like, though. I did live in the Boston area for about six years, some 40 years ago. It was spectacular in the spring and fall but winters, ohhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I am SO jealous of your snow. I want that!!!! Please????? Your tree is beautiful. Glad you have electricity again. Enjoy your snow and stay warm.
I'm jealous too! We're excited around here just because we might have some snow flurries tomorrow..and then rain! Your tree is beautiful
Aren't snow days wonderful! Your tree looks beautiful. Enjoy ~ Rebecca
I wouldn't know what to do with all that snow. I would be scared to death to drive in it. Your tree is beautiful.
we must be neighbors! and what a beautiful tree you have. Looks huge!
Oh how I miss the snow .. they say we may get a dusting here in TN but I would sure love a full force dump like what you have (minus the power outage of course)! Glad you are back online!
Your tree is BEAUTIFUL!
And I thought that San Diego was getting chilly! NO contest! Beautiful tree - thanks for sharing!
No power??? Throat. Cut. How woudl I straighten my hair?? Ha! Just kiddin. Love your tree! And snow. We having a heat way across this side of the world!
Love the tree with the burlap. Those snow pictures I love but don't want to be in that weather if I have to drive, major anxiety. Keep the decoration pictures coming, love them.
SOOOOO pretty! I am waiting for some snow over here in Portland, OR and I cannot wait. They are saying we might have some this weekend, but we shall see. Anyway - your tree looks beautiful and I am glad you have power!!!!
How much fun to have that snow--not fun without power but....
Your tree is lovely too.

Oh,,it's pretty but I don't know that I'm ready for that just yet.. I love your tree..the red really pops.
Beautiful tree! Beautiful snow! I miss snow, but only the beauty and the way it muffles the world. Not the cleaning up or driving in or mess everywhere or, ect. We didn't have much better weather here, but it wasn't 10 inches! The weird part?? I live in Louisiana!! Glad you stayed warm without power!!
I love the snow pics!!!! We have barely gotten any yet and my kids are so ready for some snow!
Your tree is beautiful!
So beautiful, but I am with you. Its no fun to travel in. Beautiful photos.
A snow day does sound tempting but not the hassles of snow and no power :(
It has been below 40 here in southern CA. i cant even imagine it there...brrr....
I LOVE snow. It was beautiful last winter here. You've inspired me to post my last year's christmas photos.
FANTASTIC!!
I think I'll borrow that pic of snow and use it as my laptop wallpaper!
I miss it!
Gorgeous tree...happy snow day!
Your tree is gorgeous and I oh-so-do-NOT miss Michigan winters one bit! Granted I haven't experienced one since the age of 11 but I think they scarred me for life. Glad you at least got a snow day and a talking tree out of the deal :). BTW- I've missed you and I'm glad you're back!
A snow day is one of the very best perks of being a teacher! I know that you really, really enjoyed having some time at home. Your snow pictures sure are pretty! We almost always get at least one snow day or two hour late day before Christmas around here. I'm waiting for mine!
Oh, I SO wish we could get snow like that here in Arkansas!! Beautiful!! : )
Your tree is beautiful! I used burlap cut strips as garland on mine this year and LOVE it! The snow is GORGEOUS! Though we rarely see any here in Georgia. Days without power I can do without! There are a few flakes falling this morning. Won't amount to much here though.
I'm so jealous of you Michiganders! My husband's family lives in MI and they have tons of snow too. :( I want more snow! We only have a dusting of it here in my part of WI.
Your tree is gorgeous!
Wow, that's a lot of snow. It snowed all day yesterday here in Wisconsin but we only got a couple inches.
Your tree is gorgeous!
I live in the Humid South. And I posted a picture a few days ago of my Gerbera Daisies. They are totally confused and blooming profusely at this point.
A little time in the snow would be so nice. Notice I said 'a little'. I'm still a Southerner and can only take snow for a day or two before I get restless.
Your tree is gorgeous.
Your tree is lovely - the burlap is a great touch. And I'm very jealous of the snow, as well!
Wow, that is beautiful...but you're right about trying to get out! And gorgeous tree! Enjoy your snow day!
Can't imagine the frustration of no power...no blogging and no tree lights? Ugh. :)
LOVE the snow. Send some down our way!
The tree is gorgeous!
Well... I won't tell you how happy I am that it has been "wintery" here for me at 65 degrees and foggy. I remember when I lived in CO when we would have snow days. YES, JOY! I did a dance,I was so excited and I was the teacher not a student. Love the burlap on the tree. A winter wonderland. So glad you got power back. Makes it much more fun, huh?
How fun! My kids would have LOVED a snow day yesterday! We had 4"...not a whole lot, but A LOT for Texas!
That looks great! I'm putting a burlap garland on mine, too. I love how the word over the garland lights up.
~Heather
Here in Arizona we are still wearing short sleeved shirts so be grateful at least your part of the world looks like Christmas.
It looks beautiful. Its snowing here as well (Maryland) Can't wait to get out and take some pictures :)
Lucky! I want snow so bad I am almost ready to have it trucked in! We do have a good layer of frost! Great post! Love the tree.
The snow is sooo pretty! You're right though, it's pretty as long as you can stay inside and not have to venture out into the cold, wet, slickness. I love your tree!
Your tree is beautiful!
Your tree is absolutely beautiful!!!
Love the snow pictures too. :)
Gorgeous, gorgeous tree! And the snow image is beautiful, but like u said, wait until , you have to run some errnads :)
Wow, I can't believe you have so much snow! We have been spared so far here in Cleveland this year!
Karen
That snow looks gorgeous. Not as gorgeous as your tree, though. I know what you mean about the driving difficulties. Not so much fun.
I live in England temporarily. We get pretty much zero snow. Depending on how long you are here, you tend to miss the white stuff.
where did you get your burlap garland, and I am most certain you probably cut it yourself, how did you do that(besides using scissors, LOL)
Thats gorgeous!!!
Your snow pictures are beautiful!
Living in S.MS ... it was the strangest thing to have snow last night and a good part of today. :o) It looked like a winter wonderland ... not something you see in the south! :o)
I just posted a question on my blog. Can you help me? Thanks! Trish
I'm having the same weather as you are! We also just had a snow day! It is pretty but YUCK!
LOVE your tree :)
Soooo soooo pretty. I love that tree.:) I can totally relate to not getting on for a couple days. This past week was really rough on us:( Good days are coming though! Thanks for the pretty pretty pictures!!! Happy Holidays
I am soooo glad I'm on the other side of the lake. Not much here but we are supposed to get dumped on this week. Means you'll get more as it picks up steam over the lake. Well at least you've got snow days. ;)
I love your tree. I love the garland. I love the snow pictures. I love that you got a snow day. Hooray for it all!!!
WOW! We just had a winter storm warning on the radio...expecting 10-14 inches. I find myself suddenly wishing I hadn't put off getting tires on my car! LOL!
Hope you're enjoying the snow!
How beautiful!! I know the snow can be annoying but it sure is pretty :)
I totally understand your post! its snowed an inch and a half today and it's like everyone forgot how to drive in the snow lol
Beautiful tree (and decorations)... so we must know... where (or how) did you get the burlap garland!? it looks fantastic! Very cool touch!
Merry Christmas!
Snow day!! If only in the UK! Would love to wake up to a sight like that!!
