Want Some Money?

What do you think?  Did that get your attention?  I hope so, ‘cause this is a completely lame “self promotion” post.  I hate “self promotion” posts—almost as much as I hate over using quotation marks.

However, I have nothing to blog about tonight.  I’m exhausted, and all I’ve done this week is bake for other people and driven my kids back and forth to practices.  Tomorrow is my last day before Christmas break, so that means I’ll get the flu in about 3 days.  Not kidding.

Adi from Houzz contacted me last week and asked if I would do an interview feature on their website.  I told her she would have to contact my agent first, but I don’t think she found that funny.  In seriousness, though, she wrote up a great little interview article that features a bunch of pictures from my home.  Some you’ve seen and perhaps some you haven’t.  If you’d like to stop by and comment, you might just walk away with a $50.00 gift card to Pottery Barn

As if I wasn’t feeling pretty cool about myself already, Ohdeedoh featured my daughter’s bedroom mural on their site today.  I didn’t try the agent joke this time, but I giggled at the thought.  Hopefully, you’re not too sick of this picture yet (I’m getting a little sick of it for you).  Feel free to go see what they have to say and then (as true friends would do) make fun of me for how cool I think I am right now.

I’m hoping to be back this weekend with something.  And I’m hoping that that something isn’t the flu.

Congrats on being asked to be featured at Houzz. Too bad that gal didn't have a sense of humor. I would of giggled with you. I am not sick of your mural. I think it looks great. I love the colors in that room and the fabrics you chose. It makes me smile to see it.
Heres hoping you DON'T get the flu.

Okay, I can't lie to you. You know this. :) You're fabbbbbulouso. I'll take my Pottery Barn gift card now, thanks.

Love your house and you, wish I could stalk you more closely. For real.

Cheryl, I didn't really tell her to call my agent. I probably should have clarified my bad joke. Adi from Houzz was extremely friendly...and I'm suspecting she would have laughed at my agent joke. :)

You desreve it! That mural is fantastic, love the colors & the new bed. The previous room was "cute", but this is way beyond that. Major kudos! To think you do stuff like that, blog & Teach full-time, plus home life makes me feel like a slacker!

Congrats on the write-up. I think the agent joke was funny. ;-) And I COMPLETELY know what you mean about the flu... I was a teacher for 8 years, and I got sick over every break! You let your body relax, and then get slammed with illness. Hope it skips you this time!

I saw your Houzz interview - it was WONDERFUL! Congrats - you totally deserve the exposure! Your work is always phenomenal! (I'm the dumb one on the Houzz comments who accidentally added my photo HUGE, and then couldn't figure out how to delete the comment.) I'm really not THAT narcissistic, it really was an accident! Congrats again!

OMG it's the tree again? (Someone had to say that, you knew it would be me.) Congrats on being featured with such a great article! I totally would've commented but I was too lazy to register. Srsly - if you EVEN get a talk show if you don't hire me to be your agent, I have your address, and I am not afraid of your DH's cutsie ammo basket. I passed some argyle socks today and thought of you - hope you don't get sick. Be cozy and enjoy your break!

I recently found this espresso toddler table and chairs I want to get my 20 month old for Christmas. Maybe Ill actually win a gift card and make it happen? :)

You must adore robin's egg blue just like I do. I'm sitting here showing my husband your daughters' room saying how it is exactly how I want to do our daughters' room. He was worried about the tree until I told him it was done from a projector. He really has to do it now. Do you have boys? I would love to see their rooms.

Congrats on being featured on Houzz. I love their website. I know exactly how you feel about doing so much and then coming down with the flu. That is what I just told my husband. We have moved 800 miles from home about 5 weeks ago and we had a car wreck when we got up here and it just all seems like too much sometimes. I didn't even put up a tree this year. My parents flew up from Florida to stay for a week and I have run myself silly. I am hoping the flu doesn't find me next week either. Merry Christmas.
