Master Bathroom Sneak

I haven’t shown my master bathroom.  Wanna know why?  It’s not really showroom quality.  The master bath is what I consider the “trench” of the daily routine.  It should be clean.  Sterile, even.  I wanna get clean in a clean environment.  Make sense?  Alright fine.  Here it is.

IMG_0185Here it is when you walk in.  As you can see, there’s a nice view of our play area.  Very romantic.

I do like a little sparkle.  My mom bought me these jars several years ago at JCPenney.  You just never know where you’re gonna find stuff, you know?IMG_0177

To the right of the entry is our master closet.  I would show you, but you’d scream in horror.  Let’s just pretend it still looks like this

IMG_2224 Behind me is the toilet room.  Water closet?  Room with the toilet.  There’s nothing fancy.  Just the toilet.  And probably an empty toilet roll on the dispenser.

There’s a million and one things I would like to do in here, but they’re far down on the list.  However, I am buying a chandelier for over the tub.  I’ll show you that in the next couple of weeks.  Well, as soon as my husband gives me the ok.

Just delurking to tell you I love your new drapes and I salivate over everything you make and show on your blog.

We call the little toilet room the pooper closet. Just seems appropriate and yes, we have an empty toilet paper roll in our master bathroom as I type this.

That is beautiful! What a nice bathroom! I cannot wait to see the chandelier over the tub.

I'll de-lurk too because I love your blog (you have a beautiful home!) and I just have to ask...what is the jist of your daily routine that keeps your bathroom so perfectly clean?

What a nice bathroom. I like your window shades. I think a chandelier will look great. Can't wait to see what you choose.

I am stealing, um, going to use the idea for the 'roman-shade' too! You did a wonderful job!

Um I'll take your bathroom ANY day! LOVE it!

Delurking to say I love your bathroom. I have a similar tub and would kill for an actual surround instead of the plastic showing. I also have a recessed fixture over mine and have been thinking of a way to make one of those converter kits into a chandi.

I can't wait to see what all you do in this room!

I have to tell you -- when you said "play area" I thought you meant the tub. I was all wow!! Bowchica!! Then I realized. :) I'm slow. Anyway, I think this room is gorgeous!

I would love to have a bathroom that looked like this! Really!

You shouldn't complain about this bathroom--I could probably put five of my "master bathroom" in yours! If someone is standing at the sink, no one else can get in. It only has a shower. The list of gripes goes on and on. I'll trade you!

I wish out bathroom was that big! It's beautiful and bright too. Lovely.

A chandelier over the tub?! What a wonderful idea! No matter what the view out the window, a chandelier will turn that into a romantic spot.

Your new rug and window treatments really look nice. The colors are just what I would imagine being in your master bath. Beautiful like you. :)

Oh my, I am in love. I want your bathroom (and your closet too, so big!). But I'm not greedy - I'll just take the tub... Not that I would have anywhere to put it. I'm pretty sure my bathroom would fit *inside* the tub...

Hope it all comes together to your liking. Those little jars are beautiful! Have a wonderful weekend.

Lovely bathroom! I so wish I had that many cabinets in my bathroom!

I really like the carpet runner. Makes me want to do something like that when we finish our bathroom.

I have to ask, why are those beautiful jars empty?

It is nice and bright! We just moved into a new house and our bathroom is SO plain. Our home in Florida had a beautiful bathroom but it is because it was custom done with me picking out everything:) It was small but beautiful. Our master bath and bedroom is the last thing I am going to be working on. (I had a chandelier over our tub too. I can't wait until you show us that.)

You know if you get a sparklie chandelier you're going to have to get rid of the swirlie wall candle thingie on the wall. Just using my professional interior design speak to help you out here. ;) Geesh, what would you do without me?!

Your comment about empty toilet paper made me laugh. I was in my daughter-in-law's parents home, and the toilet paper was not on the roll. I found it sitting on the edge of the tub, and being compulsive, I stuck it in the dispenser. DIL laughed at that--"My sisters won't be able to find it!"

Speaking of a chandelier over the tub, I saw this great post over at Hope Studios a while back and thought you would enjoy it: http://hopestudios.blogspot.com/2009/07/chandelier-lovin-or-my-bathroom-diy.html.

What a great space. Personally I love the idea of a chandelier over a tub and it can make such a great impact. If your hubby agrees go for it! I did a post a while back about the experience when I was proposing one on a remodel job. I am doing a follow up soon of how fabulous it looks and other wonderful spaces with the eye candy of a beautiful chandelier added over the tub. It's the extra little detail that adds a big impact. Good luck. Look forward to seeing what you decide.

I am in awe over how organized the closets are! :)
