She’s on Her Way

I have an infected tooth.  The infection can be felt up to my eye.  I need oral surgery, and I’m too chicken to have it done.  Why am I telling you this?  Pity?  Support for my fear that my husband doesn’t seem to be showing me?  Perhaps because it slowed me down on my projects a bit this weekend.  Not so much that I couldn’t order this to make me feel better.

untitled You know that sound that 14-year old girls make when they first see one another after Christmas break?  I do.  It’s horrifying.  However, that’s the sound I made when I pushed the “confirm order” button tonight.  And yes, it was horrifying.

If you do have a bad infection in your tooth it is nothing to mess with. You can die if it gets into your blood stream. Get it checked out pronto!! It is serious!

I am a physician's wife..
infection of any sort is not to be taken lightly..
get yourself to the dentist pronto..
he can't do any surgery until the infection is under control..
at the least he will start you on heavy duty antibiotics..
nice camera..
too bad you wont be able to use it if you keep lollygagging about the tooth!
that is serious business!
hugs and smiles..

I make that sound whenever I open a present and a I see Tiffany blue inside. Seriously.

In my best "I grew up in the valley" jr. high voice: "So awesome about the tooth, right? Like I'll bet you totally can't eat anything and are getting like, super skinny. So jealous." Or something like that. Hope your feeling better O.

I'm seriously jealous of the camera. But I do share the grief with the tooth.

I just had oral surgery and it was worse knowing HOW they'd do it than the actual procedure. I went to a specialist and didn't feel a thing.

Did it help? That's a 'nother whole new story I won't tell you until you get yours done. :)

Feel better soon. And get the tooth taken care of. It'll be ok. They do it all the time even if thank goodness we do not. :)

Lucky you! I dream of owning that camera . . . someday . . .

I feel your tooth pain - literally. I'm in the process of having 3 root canals along with two new crowns. One tooth having "chronic decay". How'd that happen??!!!

Get it there and get that tooth taken care of so we can have you back to your 100% real soon! :o)

Happy Monday to you!

Happy for you on the camera! I need a new one so bad but until I find a job and get back on track, that's a dream that's going to have to wait.

Now...for the concerned blogger friend speech. Get that tooth taken care of A.S.A.P.! Cherie is right, you can die from it. I recently had a bad infection which required oral surgery too and my BFF freaked out when I told her about the infection. She said I had to get antibiotics immediately (which my dentist had already given me) and get it taken care of soon. She works in the hospital and one of her worst cases involved a 26 year old healthy male who came in the ER with a toothache. He couldn't afford the dental care or antibiotics and the infection ended up going to his heart and killed him! Who knew this could happen...not me!

Oh, now I'm jealous! Love it. Can't wait to see all the gorgeous pictures you take with it.

Ohhh---I feel your pain on the tooth and needing work done. I had a life-long fear of dentists until I met one that said "we an fix that". I take up to 2 Halcion before I go. Someone needs to drive me BUT I know what's going on, I can communicate-but I don't feel anything and don't care! It has made a TREMENDOUS difference. Find a dentist who understands your fears and work with them. Blessings, Sharon

After reading through your comments, it seems this is THE camera to have! So sorry about the tooth/infection/surgery drama. I can relate. I'm having some dental issues myself. I can't afford to do anything about mine right now :(

So jealous about the new camera! I hope it makes you feel a little better! :)

Camera = NICE!

Girl, go get your tooth taken care of. An infection is nothing to mess around with. It can get in your blood and then you'll have bigger problems.

I have oral surgery twice late last year..it's not a huge deal. And it feels so much better afterward cause you know the problem is over with.

Carmen @ Life with Sprinkles on Top said...

I'd feel exactly the same way if I just ordered that fancy camera. I would love to get one of those! I hope you get that infection taken care of soon. Those can be serious.

You will love it! I have the Canon Rebel Xti and it is almost as precious as my babies ;)

I can sympathize! I deal with my on again off again wisdom teeth bothering me, but I REFUSE to have them taken out. My hubby says I just need to deal with it and not complain since I can't handle taking them out. MEN!!! At least you got something fun out of it. That is sooo much better than medicine. I may need to use that idea next time my wisdom teeth flair up.

I hate anything to do with my mouth. Hope you get that taken care of soon.

You are hillarious. You will love the camera but not until you get that tooth fixed. Get going.

There is nothing worse than a toothache and if you have an abcess you need antibiotics!! So put on your big girl panties and call that dentist and make an appointment! I used to work for a dentist and have had more than my fair share of dental work done!! You won't feel a thing, but the infection has to be cleared up first!!

And I am SO JEALOUS of that camera girl!!!

Hope you feel better soon!!

CALL THE DENTIST!!

Lou Cinda :)

Oh, golly. An infected tooth. Bless your heart. I'm so sorry. . . oral surgery is no fun, I know. Hope you can get it done soon so that it'll be nothing but a memory and won't be able to interfere with your enjoyment of your new camera!

I agree with Cherie. Here's a little cut-rate medical advice. Anything infected in the head area is very serious. Your tooth infection can turn to encephalitis very easily, especially if it's origin is a tooth. Suck it up, take care of the tooth and be done with it before it does you in. Are you absolutely positive that it's a tooth? I had the exact same thing and the pain feels exactly like a tooth ache, goes up the side of your face to your head, etc...it turned out to be a sinus infection. I was in bed for a week.

Unknown said...

I really, really want that camera! Good for you getting one. Have a great week. Hope you feel better!

OMG! Lucky girl. I've been dreaming of a Nikon D40.
You really should go to the dentist, these days they have got so far with their procedure. I just went to a speciallist (Ondodontist) and spend $2500.

OUCH! Don't be afraid! You can get through this.
I think I might have camera lust!

Two things: LOVE this camera, you will have NO regrets =)
Secondly--I work in dentistry, your infection is serious, the fact that it is near your eye is nothing to let go--this CAN affect your vision. The infection is ALREADY in your bloodstream, telling you that you could die is a bit extreme, but you NEED to have this dealt with right away =(

I agree w/ the rest, get the tooth checked on! :)

My son had an infected tooth (along w/ a horrible swollen face) and the dentist told us that he could have lost his eye sight. Serious stuff.

Wishing you courage at your dentist appointment!

LOL. I hope your tooth gets better soon. Definitely go get it taken care of. Don't let fear hold you back. As for the squeal of delight? I squealed just like that when my hubby gave me my Nikon D40 for Christmas 2 years ago. Have fun!!

LOVE the camera and girl...get to the dentist. I went through 2 years of pain and multiple infections to find out the jerk of an endodontist did my root canal badly and had caused all the pain. I finally got another opinion and the tooth had rotted below the bone line and had to come out. I have been in horrendous amounts of pain this weekend because I have crazy long roots but I wish I had gone and gotten it looked at sooner. I probably could have had the tooth saved. I hope you get better hun!!

I've had too many infected teeth. Go now! It's way worth the trouble and dangerous to wait. Don't forget your i-pod to drown out the dentist and ask for gas if you are too scared.

I am very sorry about your tooth. I completely understand your fears. A lot of people just don't get it. I think you should call the office and be honest about your dental anxiety. They can prescribe something to help you. Also, make someone go with you for moral support. God bless you. P.S. I love the new camera.

I have been a dental assistant for 23 years. I hope you are on antibiotics and hopefully some good pain pills for your sick toothie. :) They have all kinds of ways to help you relax so they can get that tooth taken care of for you. You can do it!!!!! :) Please don't put it off....tooth aches can go away...but they will always come back and it is usually on a weekend or Easter Sunday or Christmas morning or some time lovely like that when the last thing you want to do is think about a silly tooth. You can do it!!!! (Smile!)
