Original title, I know. My Silhouette and I had a great weekend together. We giggled, had pillow fights, and made crafts together. It was a hoot. What I should have made clear earlier is that my Silhouette was given to me by their VERY generous company.
Apparently, they got together at their huge, executive conference table and said, “We must find an innovative mind that can handle this machine and do it justice.” After that didn’t work out, they must have said, “Well, let’s just find some goofy blogger who gets all sweaty at the thought of using our machine.” Enter ME!
I’ve seen projects like this on the web, and I’ve always wanted one. However, the thought of cutting out 36 tiny butterflies was just not appealing to me. My Silhouette jumped at the chance! She’s so good to me.
We only argued just a little when the machine wouldn’t measure out exactly where I was supposed to put the butterflies. I said, “But I’m horrible at measurements!” and she said, “Quit acting like I can talk to you!” It got weird.
At least the project turned out EXACTLY how I wanted it to! It’s sooo pretty!
It fits perfectly in the space I had planned for it, and it’s fresh and girly! Yee Hee!
I’m gonna end this post with a little quiz for you. Which decoration did I choose for my daughter’s room, and which decoration did she choose? Not that I blame her or anything. It’s just not quite the look I was going for.
P.S. Stay tuned…I’ve got some pretty great announcements coming up that YOU’RE gonna like!

I love it! I want one of those machines right now!! :)
What paper did you use for your butterflies? It's so pretty.
That. is. a. very. cool. project! I love your butterflies. Did the silhouette glue them down for you in that very realistic way? I've been hearing nice things about this machine, but I don't have one of these or that Cricut thingy either.
Well first your post totally cracked me up! (love the Twilight poster -- heehee!) And two -- LOVE this project -- it's so adorable!
That machine looks amazing!! Great work! Also I feel your pain in regards to your child picking out her favorite decor....between Justin Bieber and Twilight I have a hard time keeping my girls' walls poster free!
I love that you put the Twilight poster on the back of her door so that when the door is open you can't see it. That's exactly why why I put my son's Indiana Jone's poster in the same spot. LOL!!
The butterfly art is gorgeous!!! So pretty and feminine!
oh my gosh, that is so adorable!
I. WANT. ONE. NOW! Love the butterflies, I want one of those pictures too!
I love this project! So pretty and unique! I would love to give this one a try.
What a gorgeous gathering of butterflies! I can't imagine why your daughter would choose Edward and Bella over them. Just wait a few years.
OH I love this! It is too cute!!
I LOVE this!!
This is adorable - LOVE IT! Like what she picked out also, lols.
What? You were wanting Jacob? Got your tickets for next week? Oh yeah...we'll be talking like school girls the next day for sure.
Please tell the Silhouette company that not only would I get sweaty for one, but I might also just pee my pants.
I looked up the machine earlier and Dan told me if I wanted one for Christmas I had better get a job. Boooo.
Love your butterflies as well as your lame title. :)
I've been saving to get a cricut. I had never heard of Silhouette until now. I just looked and it seems that it is more of a perfect match for what I want to do.
I guess they are smart people in sending you one, because I know it got at least one person to buy one. ;) (ME!)
I think I'm going to do the butterfly project too... along with soooooo... much more! awwww where will I find the time to do all that I have planned? hee hee

Beautiful! I love Edward and Bella too though! lol
Oh, I love that. Now I want one of those mochines. My kids are still tiny; I totally dread the day they get opinions about clothing and decor!
LOL...DUH!!!

Lovely, so pretty!
Love the butterflies- your daughter has such cute taste. I guess I understand your choice of the Twilight poster- what team are you on?
Only kidding- the butterflies are so cute!
Soooo cute!
Oh, I {love} it!! The butterfly picture is cute too.. ;)
What a fantastic and easy idea! I have a cricut, but this silhouette looks way easier to use.

Can you share the name of the paint color used in your daughter's room? It is so pretty and fresh!
Simply lovely. Great job!
So cute! I so, so, so want a silhouette. You are one lucky lady.
Love all those beautiful butterflies!! So feminine!!
That looks FABULOUS! And the butterflies are nice too :) The Silhouette looks so interesting, as does the Cricut, but I really don't know what I'd use them for - I don't have crafts jumping out of my brain :(
CA-UTE! I love the butterfly art. The Twilight art is okay too but not really my style either. haha
Oh, THAT is so beautiful! I really love the butterflies!!!
So cute!
We are getting into the poster stage here, too. No more cute rooms for a while I guess!
OH my goodness -- I LOVE IT!! I've been wanting to do the same thing and bought some wood butterflies on sale, but then I'm wondering how in the heck I'd get pretty paper on them -- what a PAIN! :) I'm going to link to this tomorrow!
I love it I want one Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase!!! Where can I get one in Australia???

Love it!!! Now I know what my granddaughter and I are going to do on our next play day. Only I am going to have to cut out all the butterflies.

Umm, that's a HUGE improvement over the nasty dried butterflies or whatever is usually framed like that. ;)
So very pretty!! And you crack me up. =D
Looks like the poster is already on the closet door. The same place my daughters is!!! Funny! I pick the butterflies, but I am sure she picked twilight poster. I love this project, makes me want to go out and get one of those machines. Thanks for the inspiration!
Very pretty project. I'm going to research this silhouette stuff in depth. I need a girlfriend like her and I just love sleep overs!
I love that. I can think of so many things I'd do with s silhouette. I'm really really hoping you are gonna do a give away on your blog. I need to win one! :)

What a great project. Very lovely and airy looking.
I love it!! What a cute and fun project idea and the butterflies are absolutely adorable! =) I hadn't seen the silhouette before but what a great tool for cutting all of those out so they end up the same size.
lovely!!!
Ooooh sooo jealous!
LOVE the butterfly project. :)
This is off topic... but tab in my browser says "Just a Girl: Beatiful Butt..." and then it gets cut off. While that's funny, your blog is truly cool. Thank you for sharing!
LOVE the butterfly frame. Great machine. You make everything look so easy. PS..Love Bella and Edward too!!!
Mom
That is so adorable! I've been hearing about those silhouettes everywhere and I want one! =)
Oh my goodness! I just made one of these and got the idea from another website. I did mine a little diferent than the one I saw and loved how it turned out. Then I came here to catch up on your posts and here I see your butterfly collage! It looks alot like mine! Love it! and your blog!
I am making two of these as Christmas gifts. Is the photo correct in that you did not replace the glass over the butterflies? It might squoosh the butterflies but then they get dusty.
