We’re Off!

I’m going camping.

I don’t camp. I don’t like to camp. I don’t want to camp. But…I’m camping. In a tent.

I had these grand plans of writing posts ahead of time, so you wouldn’t even notice I was gone.  Alas, you get stuck with a picture of our destination and some final complaints about the trip.

I’ll be back in a few days!  Enjoy your nice comfy beds and your central air.  I’ll be hangin’ with the mosquitoes.

God Speed, my dear. God Speed.

(I hate camping, too.)

I love camping, although I haven't been since I was a kid so it's possible that I hate it now too. LOL!

Just try to have fun. Being out of your comfort zone can teach you a lot of things about yourself.

Try to have fun! I am like you I don't like to camp, I like to day camp, hang out for the day and be in my bed at night! I think it might have something to do with all the times we went when I was little, it always rained so the 6 of us were crammed in the pop-up trailer that always leaked!

i love camping! something about not having to give a crap about what I look like and just enjoying the fresh air! Or maybe it's the way that my daughter is completely zonked out at the end of the night from all the fresh air.. that is probably why ;)

I'm not a huge fan of camping either...especially after our tent got attacked by evil squirrels twice in one trip! One piece of advice, never leave food in your tent!

I have been following your blog for a few months and I LOVE IT!! I hope you survive your camping trip... I am like you, I don't camp but the location looks gorgeous!

You'll have so much fun! We're leaving for our camping trip in a little less than a week.

And a little tip: take huge containers of baby wipes. I use them for everything when we camp.

I, too, camp in a tent. I love camping, but not in a tent. A tent trailer, yes. Not in a tent.
I take along my tylenol pm to get some sleep and I try and be outside as much as possible!!!
I also hate sleeping bags, so I take my cotton sheets and quilts and make my bed up all pretty first thing!! Makes a difference! I also take great...yes great...meals along! Makes the whole group jealous!!!! (we camp with a group of 30-40 every summer!) Decorate that tent up too! A girl needs to have a homey feel to her campsite!

Have fun!

Did you ever see the movie Troop Beverly Hills, now those girls "camp" the way I'd want to camp, at the Beverly Hills Hotel!

Im sorry about the mosquitos, I wouldn't do it due to my sever allergy of them, maybe next time you should use that as an excuse not to go.

I think you will have a blast. Make the most of it and remember to take lots of photos to share with us when you get back.

Enjoy!

I *love* camping... You know, when my husband takes our boys, that is, so I get the house to myself & can watch HGTV or a Jane Austin movie adaptation while relaxing on the sofa... =)

At least the view is pretty.
But I will think of you.

Good Luck!

I would gladly trade you places... I LOVE to camp!!!! (I'm someone people would think was LEAST LIKELY to camp!) Just relax and enjoy the great outdoor (and the ants, and mosquitoes, and bees, and the rowdy neighbors... you know, all the good stuff!!!! LOL!!)

I used to looooooove camping. I haven't been in years and years and am not sure I would still enjoy it. But that view you'll have is GORGEOUS!

Way to take one for the team/family! Have fun and a safe trip!

I grew up camping but my family had a camper. It was so much different than camping in a tent as an adult (comfier beds.)

Oh I love camping! I used to totally hate it, but I finally "came around" according to my husband! I totally understand the having all these intentions to keep the blog going while you're gone. We were just gone last week and it's been sooo hard to get going again! Try to have fun! I look forward to checkin on your blog when you get back!

I detest camping. actually i might like it if there was A/C, soft beds, less dirt, no bugs, and I didn't have to pack all the crud, wash all the camp dishes by myself, unpack all the crud, wash all the crud...etc.
Have a blessed time.
LOL

Looks like Sleeping Bear Dunes in Glen Arbor, Mi to me! I could be wrong of course but I was just there last week and it looks JUST like it! I wish I was still there! GORGEOUS and WONDERFUL, unless you are one of the people that decides to go down the dune. Coming back up is a nightmare and can take HOURS. Seriously HOURS. I've seen people crying trying to get back up!
