Beadboard: The Master Plan

My secret plan has worked! (Insert evil laugh here). If you’re ever worried that your father in law will be less than pleased to help you install some beadboard, try this.

art in the bathroom

Completely Coastal

Step 1: Have your 7-year old daughter call him and jabber his ears off about her dentist appointment today and that Maximus farted while he was sitting down earlier.

Step 2: Well, that’s the only step really. This is where I got on the phone and had the following conversation:

Me: Hey Dad. I was actually calling for a reason.

Dad: You are, huh?

Me: Yeah. I was hoping you could come up and help me installsomebbrdntheBATHROOM.

Dad: What’s that? You have to go to the bathroom?

Me: No, no. I don’t think so. I was hoping you could come installsomebbrdntheBATHROOM.

Dad: Ahhhh…I think I heard the word install that time.

Me: Oh! Well, I guess if you want to come install it, that’d be a good idea too.

Dad: Does Thursday sound good?

Me: I love you.

It went well, don’t you think? I should clarify. If I called my FIL at 3:00 in the morning and told him there was a spider in my house, he’d come over and have it killed before I could even hang up the phone. He will do anything for us. The conversation was just my way of messin’ with him. ‘Cause he’s also really fun to mess with!

What a blessing for you to have such a wonderful father-in-law! Of course, I imagine he considers it a blessing to have such a wonderful daughter-in-law. Speaking as the mother of sons getting close to the age when they'll be considering future wives, I can tell you that having one of our sons find a girl like you would make us really thankful!

Good luck with the beadboard. Can't wait to see what you're up to.

Are you going horizontal or vertical? Looking forward to seeing what you do. I have two walls in my house I'm wanting to do and thinking of going horizontal to match the lines on my TV stand. I'm going to have the same conversation with the worlds best brother! :) Have Fun!!

You have the most amazing ability to make me laugh out loud simply by cramming a bunch of letters together. (installsomebbrdntheBATHROOM)

And using the word "fart".

LOVE YOU!

What a nice FIL. You have got to write a novel or book or article, something. You had me in complete stitches with your phone conversation. FIL- "What, you have to go to the bathroom!" Oh you have to fart! Oh, sorry didn't hear all that. Histerical. Besides, when Olivia brings in all her charm, FIL is a gonner. So cute. Let me know how it all goes.

Love ya,
Mom

lol!!!!!! I can sooo relate. My FIL is also Mr.handy and whenever he comes to visit I make sure I have plenty of projects lined up for him. He only visits twice a year-so I got to get in as much as possible. My trick- I get a project started right before he comes- so when he arrives Im right in the "middle" of it and he gets to jump right in. He's awesome!!!

Oh my gosh it's BEAUTIFUL! And asking the father in law... now that's an idea that might get me somewhere around here!

I have a FIL like that. I casually mentioned that I would love an ice cream cone and before I could blink he was out the door. A few minutes later, I had an ice cream cone in my hand. And that is before I married my husband!

LOL - sounds a lot like the conversation I had with my father in law about my bathroom. Except I told him I was going to do the whole thing myself and he came running over to make sure it was done correctly -- i.e. he did most of the cutting and nailing :)

I can't wait to see it!!

Chris, I read somewhere that there is a bead board wallpaper. I wondered if it was heavy enough to use for a backsplash.
Think I am going to look into it ..........

Lucky duck... when I dropped hints that I needed help cleaning out a section of our new house, my family showed up and cleaned all our outside windows instead. Um... thanks, but what?!

Can't wait to see the finished product!
