Mantel Spookification

The husband is home (still have to write a post on that one) just in time to get all my Halloweeny stuff down from the garage. I was determined not to buy anything new this year. Okay, determined not to buy a lot of new things this year.

I purchased this Martha Stewart window vinyl on clearance two years ago. I was determined to use it somehow, but my windows wouldn’t have it. Sooo I painted a piece of scrap panel I had in the garage and spray glued it right on there.

I’m not a fan of mantels that don’t have enough height to them, so I always try to find something to balance that issue. My favorite resource? Branches. I simply cut them off trees outside and spray a dusting of spray paint on them. I don’t want them looking too polished.

Yes. I tend to have a thing for witches. It’s a conscious effort not to buy every little spooky girl out there. This little glitter gal was purchased for $10.00 at Hobby Lobby. Love her.

Speaking of glitter…it’s a must. I tend to like simple colors (how many times have I said that?!), so glitter brings the texture I need! Oh! The skulls? Dollar Store.

The Halloweening is in full force at Just a Girl’s house! I’m sure I’ll be back with more later.

You are really something. Somehow you manage to come up with a mantel that's full of witches and skulls and glitter, yet it still looks SOPHISTICATED. How the heck do you do that??

I agree with Richelle. Spooky, festive, yet oh so classy! Nice job! And 'grats on Hubby being home!

Those skulls are awesome. I do love glitter, but can't stand the mess it creates - I'm OCD like that! Think of all I'm missing out on!

I love your mantle! I've always been nervous about going full out with Halloween decorations because I'm afraid it will look goofy and not mesh well with the house. I'm so impressed on how sophisticated yours look, yet so much fun! I love the skulls!

Halloween is a big holiday at my house. My husband loves decorating for it (our house looks like Halloween puked on it from the outside when he's done. (In a really fun way though)) and it just happens to be my birthday.

Oh really Halloweenie!!!! How fun. Jackson must love the glass vase full of skulls...How creepy. Great job on the MS witch picture. Looks really good. Your so ingenious. I was @ tjmaxx the other night, I looked every where for your long legged witch. No luck, all gone. Darn. Check your tjmax store. Our's just remodeled and it looks exactly like your Marshalls. I said something to a clerk and she denied it. Said it was just a redo. ?? Don't think so. It looks great now.
Love you, Mom

love the silhouette, especially the size of it. Such drama. I will be copying this idea but with my own image. Are you flattered or annoyed? I hope flattered. You're just that good. :)
