I know I’m trying to be less original and more “findable” with my post titles, but this one was just a natural fit. By drawers, of course, I mean my craft dresser. I knew you’d ask, and you didn’t disappoint. Ready to find out?
Paint, glitter, glue. Every crafter’s must-haves, right? Bins and tins are my saving grace. I didn’t want to get this room around and just throw everything into a drawer.
Remember when I showed you my ribbon organizer? Well, I didn’t say I had all my ribbon organized. At least all most of it’s in the same place. That’s a good start!
My sewing box (another must-have for me) and my glue guns. Needless to say, this drawer gets some use!
Now that my BFF has moved in, I decided she deserved her own drawer. First the drawer. If it works out, I’ll get her a key to my place. Lots of vinyl, blades, etc. I also house all the cording I need to get work done.
Here’s a not so brilliant tip. I label all my cords so that I know what they’re for. If they don’t already have a tag, I simply wrap a piece of frog tape like below and write on it with a permanent marker. No more trying ten different cords when attempting to upload pictures to my laptop!
The #1 reason I wanted this storage dresser is for my waiting-to-be-altered items. I tend to give gifts for random reasons, so I always like to have some staples around. Ceramic tiles for coasters, tins for packaging, lots of stationery…blah, blah, blah.
Of course, now that I’ve taken out a lot of the office storage that my other desk provided, I had to leave a drawer for a couple of those supplies. I keep tape, envelopes, cards, hole punch and what not in here. Now if I could just get my husband to remember that they’re in there.
The middle drawers are a work in progress, but here’s a horrible picture of what’s in there now. I don’t know how convenient it will be for my fabric, but I didn’t want to have visible piles. I also keep my craft table cloths in the top drawer. They’re a must.
So there you go. A look inside my drawers! I’ll stop there. I’m just immature enough to continue going with that one.
See you Friday!

I'm giddy over your organized drawers. Soooo pretty. I've been working this week on getting my office/craft room organized too.
How very neat and tidy! And you certainly do have lots of space available. I am dreaming about a craft room all for myself...
That's pretty awesome. As we just spent a good 25 minutes looking for the scissors for a homework project. (And DIDN'T find one of the 5 pair we have in the house.)
I wish I was Just a Girl!
Your organized drawers are awesome! I would love an orgainzed space like that! :)
Wow! Great organizing ideas. I'm hosting We're Organized Wednesday this week and would love for you to join the party if you get a chance. Hope to see you there.
Wow, ok, I really need to get organized after looking at this. Thank you for posting this for my inspirtation! (www.thismommyloves.com)
Your organizational skills shame me!!! Amazing!!!
Love it! I have space to organize, I just need the time to devote to doing it. I was planning on open shelves, but now I think I need to go with a dresser instead. I love that everything is hidden away.
Thanks for sharing what's in your drawers! :)
I organize my cords the same way and can't imagine how you would keep track of all that without labeling it! Looks Dreamy!
Thanks for showing us your "drawers!" Everything is so neat and pretty!
You've got some good looking drawers there... ;) You are going to be sooo jeal of mine when I get my craft room done. Just wait until next year sista.
jealous. that is what this post has made me become! :)
high five for your stellar organization and chic dresser. i'm forcing the hubz to look at it and see that i too need a craft organizer! :)
Lovely organization. It all looks so pretty. I like organizing my stuff, too, but then I get in a hurry and it gets messy again.
Beautiful organization! Love that dresser for so many reasons!
It is my dream to have something so organized, yet pretty in my house. I am definitely envious.
I have extreme drawer envy! I really need to do something about that. Thanks for sharing!
Yay! Thanks for sharing! I just knew you'd have some greatness going on inside them there drawers ;)
I have a dresser very similar to this one. I was using it as a changing table for the baby but when we moved him out of the nursery to turn it into and office/craft room for this crazy woman who is now homeschooling... my hubby didn't want to move the dresser. I was frustrated until I decided I could use it as storage. THEN, I saw your previous post and nearly passed out! I LOVE that you had the same idea and posted about it because now I don't have to do all the work ;) Hee hee. I am awesome at coming up with ideas but I always get overwhelmed with where to start. So, thanks for sharing. I know I say that a lot but really I do appreciate this blog so very, very, very, VERY much!
Oh my gosh, THANK YOU!
I had to clean out my fathers barn this summer- and I have so many nice antique dressers that I have no idea what to do with- until now!
I am certain one of them would fit in the space that used to house my dogs kennel [RIP] in my laundry room, and where I want to put a counter and shelves to do crafting, etc!

I have loved this project! It is so pretty and colorful and neat. And what a great use for an old dresser. I think it's inspiring me to get in my craft room/office and do a clean sweep. Lord knows it needs it!
As an aside, just wanted to make sure you know that USB cords are basically interchangeable. As long as the plug fits, you can use them for multiple pieces of equipment.
I love the dresser. I just refinished one and I've been wondering what to use it for. Now I know!

STORAGE ENVY.
Love it! Want it! Come organize my stuff! :)
How great, I love the organization! We just moved into a new house and I finally have a craft area, I am hoping to get it all organized with in the next to weeks. Working full time and having a three year old doesn't leave me much free time during the week but the weekends are so much fun! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, Chris. You are such an inspiration! I know you have a family and a job and everything, but would you please come to North Carolina and organize my house for me? I'll make you cookies and candies and the best pumpkin bread you've ever eaten.
I know what. No way you'll leave Michigan in the fall, so I'll ask again in February or March. You'd come to North Carolina then, wouldn't you?
Seriously, I do appreciate the inspiration you provide. I just wish I could be more like you!
That is inspiring! I too am trying to organize my craft space...it is out of control! Need to edit what I have that is for sure. Thanks for sharing whats in your drawers :)
Hope you do not mind that I linked to this inspiring post!

I just love your drawers ;o) I hope to get mine back into shape really soon. I might just incorporate some of your ideas for my drawers.
Nicely done, Chris! Title and your drawers! : ) How easy it could be to just toss stuff inside the drawer and not have it as organized as you do. I love that you went that extra step and keep it neat.
So inspiring! I'd love for my entire house to be as organized as those drawers. :) LOVE!
I want to be that organized!!! I just can't seem to get it!
Organized and fun!
Just amazingly organized !
I love all of your organizational ideas! I am hosting a "Crafting Spaces" Linky Party today and would love it if you would link up your "What's in My Drawers" post :') http://debsheartandhome.wordpress.com/2010/09/23/crafting-spaces-link-up/
Thanks!
