Spooksville Continues

I hit up Target a couple weekends ago to see what they had in store (get it? in store? hilarious!) for the holidays.

I found the short pumpkin in their dollar section for $2.50. (Wait. I’m confused.) I thought it was cute, so I picked up a couple. The candle pillars were maybe $9.00 total. A DEAL for how much I’ll be using them!

Add in a consignment shop birdhouse, a dollar store bird, and a dollar store frame to complete the vignette! Cheap shopping at its finest, I tell ya!

Earlier, I mentioned that I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on new Halloween decor. I’ve stayed pretty true to that. You try and walk away from that spooky cookie jar. It’s not as easy as it seems!

Otherwise, I simply shopped the house. It’s amazing how you can feel like you have a bunch of new items simply by moving them from one place to another!

Do you think that same concept will apply to him?

I haven't even started decorating for fall...and by the time I get around to it, it will be Christmas! Yikes. Love the way your dog totally has his head on the pillow and a little blanky, so darn cute.

That cookie jar is amazing! I'm jealous...really jealous.

That really bothers me, the $1 section being $2.50. This is the exact reason people start asking the dumb question of "How much is this?" at the Dollar Tree.

Love the cookie jar. Are there double stuff Halloween Oreos in there? There should be...

Love the spooky cookie jar. I like that whole display behind the faucet.

For the birdhouse, it might look cool to drape some spider webs inside with the crow outside. I think I am getting into the mood now, lol.

I wasn't jealous when my skinny sister married a rich doctor and moved to Hawaii. I am however, insane with envy over your cookie jar and birdhouse!!!

Oh, the nemesis. Chris! How can you not love a face like that?!

Your Halloween vignettes look wonderful. I'll say it again--how do you make even Halloween decorations look so sophisticated? It's amazing.

Love your vignette, Chris! I'm with you ~ I'm trying to use what I have or spend very little. The only other thing I wanted to buy was one of those crows/ravens at the dollar store for a birdcage I have. I had hoped to get there this past weekend, but it didn't happen.

I love all your great Halloween ideas. I'm still tweaking mine. Lots of moving furniture around here lately, so still finding homes for things. I picked up that Target pumpkin a week ago and must find a candleholder for it to perch upon now.
My daughter thinks she needs to "tuck in" our dog too.

Love your display. I've been on the junt for that picture frame. A few years ago I got some a the Dollar Tree. Did you just get the frame and if so where did you find it? Thanks for your help.

very cute decor! I'm a new reader clicking over from CG's fav reads, and just happened to notice those white candle sticks from Target. I looked for literally 6 or more months for white porcelin candle sticks (including at Target and tons of other places) to use in my master bath. None were to be found. I finally broke down and bought some at a thrift store and spray painted them white. Wouldn't you know a week or two after doing that I stumble across your candle sticks at Target. They are cuter than mine, but I just don't have the heart after I bought the others and bought spray paint to go out and buy something that is similar. To top it all off, for the cost of the paint and the candlesticks themselves, I could have bought the ones at Target. Such is my luck frequently. When I am looking for something in particular, I can never find it until after I have given up and bought something else. I just might have to go get them anyway! :)
