This week was the annual “lighting of the town” where I live. It included Christmas music, a countdown to the lighting, lots of discounts in our boutiques, and some good food with a bunch of my girlfriends. It also included Christmas carolers. The man on the right is my friend from work. Yes, he’s much cooler than we are.
All the stores had their Christmas Mojo going. Beautiful trees, festive music, and LOTS of Christmas atmosphere.
I want to be one of these figurines.
My favorite tree by far, and I just couldn’t get a good picture of it with my crappy point and shoot. Note to self: Always bring your “big dog” camera.
All the stores had their themed trees, and it was really nice being able to see how they can be decorated—even if they are upside down.

Since we’re on the theme of Christmas, what better time to host a festive giveaway? This week we’re having a…

They’re giving away two coffee mugs and a 16-oz choice of Starbucks coffee to one lucky (US) commenter.
All you have to do is go check out their three projects/inspirations and tell me which one you’d enjoy most in your yard in the comments! How fun, right?
I’ll be back later this weekend to share some of the Handmade Holidays features! For now, enjoy the trees and the giveaway!

I'd probably like the bench best. . . but my boys would love the Cornhole game! Maybe I could sit on a bench and watch them play. :)
What a wonderful Christmas tour! Looks like your town is a special place!
A bench would be great to have out by my boys clubhouse. That way I could be out there with them without having to sit in their little kid chairs:)
my kiddo would love the cornhole game!
I love the bench. It's so simple and pretty.
I love the bench!!
Without a doubt it would be the bench for me.
I like the toss game but the practical me is talking.

The bench is lovely. I pick that!
I did a post this week on upside down Christmas trees and it received quite the strong opinion! Looks like such a fun town activity to kick off the holiday season!
~**~I would love to have two benches..actually made into benches for my farmhouse table in my dining room!! Great giveaway!!(LOVE Starbucks!!);) Hugs, Rachel~~*~*~*
love the bench because who doesn't want a lovely little bench in their front yard?! perfect! great simple design for in or out!
I would have to say the cornhole set since my husband has been saying he is going to build on for... oh, I don't know... three years now! MEN!
Hmmm...tough decision. Think I'm gonna go with the bench!
The bench would be wonderful! My dad made us a cornhole game last year for our anniversary. I'm emailing him these directions because this would have been a better way to make it. Thanks!
The bench!
I love, love, love the bench!! Sounds like a wonderful time in your town. Thanks for sharing pics of all the trees.
Cornhole would be fun, but I love the wreath holder.
The bench is cute!
I love the bench and all of its simplicity. And, those red mugs are gorgeous....just gorgeous!
CORNHOLE TOSS! Oh man, take me back to the good ole' days! We definitely need this for our yard, it would be perfect and we'd host A TON of parties with it :) YES!!
Cornhole toss baby! We love having picnics and things outside.
A great blog you've got here! I just started documented a little of my thoughts on a blog, and it's not quite as simple as ya might think :)
Come and see maybe: http://danigehman.blogspot.com/2010/11/traffic-lovers-and-other-mysteries.html
You want to have toothpick legs and a potbelly?
I want the bench!
The trees are very pretty. I love the green one myself. As for the tree you like, Colin Cowie sells a flocked artificial tree, similar to the picture of the tree you like. It was easy to open up and ultra easy to store-I think it was on HSN (versus QVC). Just thought you'd want to know in case you want to try and duplicate the tree.
As for the upside down tree, I never really cared for them although they have one at my beauty shop that looks/works perfect upside down. It's near the door where you come in and standing upright it would take up too much space but upside down, it's glamorous and fits the space perfect.
Thanks for sharing such pretty trees.
The bench is beautiful!
My pick will be the bench!
I'd pick the bench - simple and functional!
Pretty nice blog you've got here. Thanks for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to this matter. I would like to read a bit more on that blog soon.

I love them al - but I have been wanting a Cornhole Toss forever! Such a fun game for people of al ages!
BENCH!!! I just removed the "bench" from our "foyer"--and this would be THE PERFECT replacement! I love it-streamlined and with the baskets underneath a perfect match to the coat tree that would be next to it!
Oh boy...I need lots of those benches! Those would be perfect to have on my trails. Hmm....I'll have to take a closer look at how it's made.
They are all nice projects, but my first choice is the cornhole toss game.
Definitely the bench. It'd be so cute sitting right outside our door, or by our future garden!

I've been shopping for a bench, so that lovely little number would definitely be my pick. And, what a fun way your town offers to usher in the holidays...thanks for sharing it!
definitely the bench! i really need one in kitchen at the front door ( i live a apartment)
I am always on the lookout for a cool bench!
Cornhole!!
Omg...I dunno...I love all three! The bench would probably get the most use, but the wreath holder is just GENIUS! Don't know why I never thought of something like that before.!
I love the bench, I could use two or three of those around the yard. But the wreath holder is genius as well!
I love the wreath holder and can see that on my front porch!! Thanks for sharing their site!!
The bench would be great to sit on and watch the kiddos play!
The bench would be great to watch the kiddos play!
we would love the cornhole toss...think i might put that project on hubby's "to do" list...after the holidays!
The bench for me . . . and the cornhole toss for the family! =)
I LOVE the bench!
I really like the wreath holder. I've never seen anything like this before, and it would certainly be a neat display for my wreath.
Ummm - the bench of course - cute!!
I like the bench the best! Thanks for the fun giveaway.
I like the cornhole toss. My daughter likes to play that game!
I love the bench!

I like the cornhole game. I'm giving the instructions to my son and painting a big Michigan M on them!
I already have the perfect spot for the bench. Oh, yeah, I also have a small addiction to coffee mugs.....perfect!!!!!
My favorite project is the bench, because of its versatility. You can use indoors or out. Stack baskets on top and bottom, place on a wall or at the end of a bed. Place flowerpots or plants on each end...ok I really like this.

My husband would love the cornhole game, but I (heart) the wreath holder.
I would like the bench. It is very practical.
I loved the red Christmas tree. Lovely.
Chris, the bench is actually perfect right now for me but not for my yard, for my new dining room table. Now to try and build one before Thanksgiving : ) What'ta a great giveaway.
Im lovin' that bench but think my family would out number me in wanting the cornhole game.
The bench for sure!
I really liked the wreath holder.
Something different than hanging it on your door.
