A Guest Post by Maximus

It is me. Maximus. You may know me as The Nemesis, but privately my mom calls me Bubbers, Bubbaloo, Bubber-bears, or Dummy. It just depends on the moment.

IMG_6278IMG_6279

I thought it would be a good idea to write about my favorite moment of the day. Oh sure..I love when Dad wrestles with me or when I sit on Mom snuggle by Mom in front of the fire, but this? This is the big one.

IMG_6281

Mom comes home, let’s me outside, and I sit. I know what’s coming. Well, I think I do. There are days when I wonder if she’s letting me out in the hopes I just keep walking, but I’m simply too lazy for that.

IMG_6282

I think I smell something, but I quickly realize it’s just me. Alright, so “quickly” might be a bit of an exaggeration. Mom says the only thing I do quickly is scarf down a whole birthday cake.

IMG_6284

I resume the wait. My buttocks are cold, but if I walk around, I risk missing it. My ears stand on the ready.

IMG_6286

Do you see my ears? They’re on the ready. That’s dog talk, by the way.

IMG_6287

Wha..wait. Something’s going on. It’s either them or that mangy cat that beat me up last summer. Don’t make fun. This cat is tough.

IMG_6288

Hold…..hold….stay calm…

IMG_6289

Here it is! It’s the moment!

IMG_6290

Alert! Alert! Danger! Stand down...it’s just a 9-year old neighbor. Whew. Thought it might be the cat.

IMG_6291 IMG_6292

Love and adore me, kids. I’ve waited all. day. for this.

Thanks for letting me guest post today. Mom keeps saying stuff like “Gotta cook dinner!” and “Why isn’t this house ever clean?” Really wish I could help her with that. As you can see, this blogging thing has worn me out. How does she do it?

Great post! Makes me think of the neighbor's dog who waited for us after school.

I love it!

Must go snuggle my Maximus now!

I LOVE this! I had to read it aloud to my husband so he understood why I kept giggling. We have two labs and they're too wimpy to let their delicate hineys sit in the snow for anything.

SOOOO sweet! Love this post! The last photo is the best...pillow and blanket? Boy he has the life, doesnt he? :)

I love Maximus! When my girls were your kids' age our dog would wait for them by the window and get so excited when the bus pulled up. Thanks for the nice memory. :)

LOVE it!! Maximus seems like such a great dog and he's gorgeous too!

I can't get over how much snow you have on the ground!! Whoa!!! Here in Texas that's just unheard of!!

So I am not the only one who lets her dog sleep on a pillow! :) Adorable post, he is a stunning dog.

This post is too funny! Maximus did a fantastic job!

So funny. That Maximus is one smart dog, for sure. He's actually quite a good writer!

This post really took me bag to our years in Hillsdale. We had a Basset hound at the time. It was hilarious to see how the snow dampened his enthusiasm for nosing around the back yard.

I showed my husband this post, and without even thinking I said, "Lookit, honey."

Some parts of Michigan just seep into your consciousness and stay there! :)

He might be all those things you've called him, but he knows who's important. Thanks for putting a smile on my face :)

my dogs sit in the snow as well to wait for the school bus. it's so funny. i do wonder how their butts don't get cold!

Great post and I don't even like dogs.

I love him! Just love him. Makes me so miss my big guy. Thanks for sharing Max today.

Dawn said...

LOL! My old dog used to do this with my kids. Of course, no snow. She'd start whining at the door about 5 min before the bus would roll up. Guess she'd hear it coming. And she'd sit on the front porch in the same stance as Maximus,...waiting, waiting...and then as soon as they got off the buss at the top of the road and started down, she'd take off like a shot!

That is a pretty BOSS lookin' dog! Yeah, I don't normally like (or more specifically want to own) big dogs, but he's making it hard to resist. The name is pretty killer too!!

he is the cutest/dumbest doggie ever. i love him!

Karen Pinkoski said...

Love this! Three months ago we lost our beloved cat who, for every single day of my kids' scholastic lives, waited just inside the door for when they came home from school. The funny thing was, she would come down from whatever warm place she was sleeping about 5 minutes before they could even be seen out the window. I don't know how she knew but she did and it was killer the first day my son came home and she wasn't there. Even the day before she died, she was waiting, right inside the door.

HOW FUN IS THIS!!! I have two doggies too that are loved like Maximus! Maybe a guest post from them is in order! ;)
