I'm pretty sure they don't rip the legs off not one, but two Gabriella dolls from High School Musical. (No pictures posted out of respect for Troy.) When he's laying down doing nothing, I think that maybe for a moment I like him. Then he gets up and jumps on the counters to get anything his 24 inch tongue can reach--again. I'm just lettin' you people know. I'm not real happy with this "family decision" we made to get this dog. I know I'm in the minority, and I am so appreciative that we have people in this world who love and care for these things. I just think I'm getting a little tired of the drool, the jumping on the counters, the gas that smells like death has come out of his rear end, and...oh!...finding dog hair in places that I should NOT be finding it. Thank you for listening to my rant.
We now continue to our regularly scheduled program.

I feel for you. I live next door to 8 dogs that are my nemesi, if you will.
It is such a shame that cute puppies turn into dogs.
I found your blog by following other's favorite places. Hope you don't mind me commenting.

This is too funny! I am in the beginning stages of a story much like yours! My first real dog too. We have always had a cat - now we have three. But "Bear" found us and well the rest is history! :o)

Ps. I am enjoying reading your blog this morning.
Ha, I feel for you! We adopted a malamute/sheperd mix who has since chewed a corner of our house (outside), two parts of the stair railing and a chair leg. She goes for the very hard to replace stuff. We love her though b/c she is so cute just like your pup! Check her out: http://mommatobug.blogspot.com/2008/03/meet-newest-member-of-mcmahan-clan.html
I'd suggest obedience training - NOW! We have Australian cattle dogs which only get to be about 40 lbs...until we adopted the 2 YO one...who is about 60 lbs and wants to try to counter surf. We begin obedience on Tues. He is the sweetest dog in the world...and reasonably well-mannered, he just needs a little intro to obedience...as does our other 2 YO male cattle dog.
I am sorry your dog killed the witch ;)
I KNOW, I KNOW!!!! Love those pets, but there's always a price to pay!
I know I'm a little bit behind in commenting, but I also have a big dog. We have a 100 lbs. (about there) all white German Sheppard. She's an inside dog & HATES being outside. If it rains, she will not go to the bathroom. I've seen her hold it for hours so her feet won't get wet.
I love my dog. I really do. I'm the one who wanted to buy her. My husband is a cat person. But I had to have this dog. The only saving grace is that she's fairly well-behaved. She does not chew stuff & was never destructive. I just have a cover of white fur over everything I own.
you are soooo funny , love reading your blogs!!!..and we are neighbors too...silvia..
Any size dog will wreck things if they're bored. Put your dog on a rigorous walking/running schedule, or get out and throw the ball-a lot! If you tire them out, they are less likely to destroy stuff. Also make sure they have a bunch of things they can chew on. Just suggestions but they worked for my best friend who is crazy enough to have TWO bull mastiff crosses! Hope things get better with him0he's awesome!♥
