Glitter and a Give away

I have to admit. I am blown away by all your supportive comments from my Halloween post. The best thing about blogging is the validation (that I assume we all get) in what we do because of the support of other people. Thank you for being sooo nice.

Many of you asked what my "trick" was in glittering the bones. I started by painting the bones a green to match the glitter. That way, I wasn't stressing if there were patches that I missed. It doesn't even show. When glittering Bill, I just used craft glue and a foam paint brush to apply it. I watered it down a bit to make it easier to apply. Don't add too much water, though, or it becomes too runny. The key for me was to do it in sections, so I wasn't pouring glitter all over the place! I applied the glitter over a paper plate, and I just kept pouring the excess back into the bottle when done with each section. How's that for a crafty revelation!? A paper plate!

My friend Linda is having a giveaway! Since I won another giveaway of hers, I figure I'll try my luck again! What are the chances that I'll be THAT lucky? Matthew Mead has a new book out, and I. want. it! Look at the cover!

I love every. single. thing. about this group of photos. Green is one of my favorite colors, and the earthiness (yes, I made that up) of this collection is be-u-ti-ful!
You can buy his book at bookstores or at http://www.entertainingsimple.com/index.php?option=com_flippingbook&book_id=2&Itemid=1.

Well, wish me luck! Either I'll win it outright, or Linda will take pity on me and rig it so I'll win! :)

You need to enter the GMA Halloween decorating contest they are having. Don't know all the details, but you'd have to have a shot at winning.

I love your Halloween projects so much (especially the clock) that I MIGHT have stolen one of your ideas...to be shown off on my blog as soon as I can get it done! Hope that's OK! :)

Mead is new to me but I fell in love with his Halloween book when I saw it at CostCo. He is AWESOME.

You worry me, you don't read, you make up words. "Earthawhat?" You're gonna lose your job Oprah. And don't think Gayle is going to bail you out at the magazine either! :)

Honestly Chris, you should reconsider your field. Ever think of going into design? You would be terrific. How is that for validation. Steadman didn't even pay me to say that!
