I love my town...

My mom came up this weekend, and boy does she have good timing. It was our annual Harvest Fest Weekend here, and it's the best time of year to convince someone to move to this area. The colors haven't changed completely yet, but I think all the fun activities and the Farmer's Market more than made up for that.

I took this while my daughter was petting a baby bunny (is there a name for that? Bunling? Little bun?) at the petting zoo.

Speaking of my daughter, this is her as a kitty. Her little "meow" made my heart melt!
My son (ever so cool, of course) went with the black widow. I think it looks like he got punched in the face, but I didn't share that with him. ;)
Proof that I exist...
At 2:00, all the store owners came out and passed out candy to the Trick or Treaters! Because I'm a bad parent, my kids didn't dress up (we literally went and got their costumes that night).
However, the store owners became witches, bunnies, and princesses. It was fun to see!
And finally, I'll leave you with some North American eye candy.
I know some have their beaches, some have their mountains, others have their skyscrapers...
but I'm pretty darn happy staring at this all day! I hope you enjoyed the tour of what small town USA looks like.
I'll give you another tour at Christmas. Carolers and fresh roasted chestnuts...can't wait!

That's fun! The trees are beautiful!

We live in the county seat, so we have a courthouse square with all of the cool antique shops, bars, diners, etc. They do "Scare on the Square" for the kids, similar to your area.

Trick or treating this far away from the Big Day? You really do live in a cool town! Ever heard of Stars Hollow? (Gilmore Girls reference).

Love the fall colors. We don't have that here in So. California. Glad I could enjoy it through you. I love small town USA. I am a country girl at heart, I think! Love all things country but have been a city girl all my life. My mom grew up on a farm in North Dakota so I think she shared the love of country with me. Connie
