O True Apothecary!

"Thy drugs are quick. Thus, with a kiss I die!" Any takers on who said it? Let's see what we know... Edited to add: I know you were all waiting with "bated breath" to see who said it, so I'll let you know. It was Romeo. A lot of votes for Juliet, but she stabs herself. It's Romeo who drinks the deadly potion. Regardless, I'm impressed by my Shakespeare followers! I feel like such a nerd right now.

Okay. Apothecary jars. Perhaps because I use mine a LOT and because I change them up a LOT, it's the number one question I get from my readers. "What do I put in them?"

I don't claim to have the answer, but I do have some suggestions. I just changed mine out again.

I got some inspiration from Nester who uses tons of "natural elements"--another reason I'm a fan--and scrounged around the house for everything I have. A potpourri mix, some shells from vacation, pinecones, feathers, and a little nest, of course.
This change came on the heels of my "winter" apothecary arrangement. The pine needles were getting a little dry. Plus, it was 50 degrees here yesterday. That's a heat wave around here, people. Don't think I wasn't lookin' around for my bathing suit! :)

Of course, when it actually IS beach weather, I bring out the sand and shells.
Let's not forget those holidays!

My apothecary ideas are not the cure-all. Therefore, I shopped around the web for some more. Easter's coming up....what d'ya think I'm gonna do with mine then?

I didn't even get started on the bathroom apothecary ideas! I love this picture!

Mrs. Limestone had a yellow-themed party, and she used lemons in hers. I know we've seen the lemons and limes before, but HELLO! These are gorgeous!

And lastly, Holly Mathis used...well...anything and everything in hers. I love the chair.
Hopefully, this goes to show you that it doesn't matter what you fill them with! There's no rule...just fill 'em!

Oh sweet apothecary jars, how I LOVE thee! Thanks for the beautiful ideas and gorgeous eye candy. I am actually in mourning for my very favorite apothecary jar. My very "spirited" toddler broke mine the other day while I was crafting with my sister. Crafting is dangerous business, you know?

Anytime I hear the word "apothecary" I think of R&J too.

The apothecary jars are SO cool... i love the modern take with the lemons and yellow candlesticks!

Romeo says that line. He takes the poison, and Juliet stabs herself.

Love all the options for the apothecary jars! I've got nuts in mine right now.

That would be Romeo, right? Loving the apothecary jars. I have a few small ones that I used to hold craft supplies (buttons, etc.) I need to get some bigger ones...any suggestions on where to buy them? I've been looking at Goodwill but I'm having no luck.

I love them! I have a small fireplace mantle and found some smaller jars. For Christmas, I put candy canes in one and gumdrops in the other. For Valentine's I have conversation hearts in them and it's so pretty and colorful!

I must confess-I was not a apothecary jar girl until I copied all the fabulous women in the blogging world.
I am kind of a freak. I love to decorate for all hoildays, and the next one is the green one. What do you think? Besides limes, what else does your little brain come up with. I am so with you on the eggs, I love the little things that cute girl put in hers. The book-I love it!!!

Interesting...I posted a picture of my jars as well. I have snacks, bars, and goodies on my counter. I also "dressed" them up with my uppercase living decals. I love your pictures.
