What a Loss

Anyone who grew up in the 80’s just cannot deny the music of Michael Jackson.

Every performance of his was absolutely electric, and I will miss the possibility of anymore music from him.

And finally, I will never forget every detail of the moment I saw this performance.  Watch and remember.

I really can't believe it. I remember having a huge crush on him in 8th grade. It's so tragic.

It is quite shocking to lose both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson on the same day. So shocking.
I have always been a MJ fan!

right on sister... being a kid and young teen in the 80's would not have been the same without him and a few others....

First Farrah Fawcett, now Michael Jackson. Everything happens too fast. The whole world mourns the death of these two stars. :(

I loved MJ so much and was an 80's child too. A superstar in the music industry!!

I still can't believe he's gone. When I hear songs like Thriller, I automatically have a memory I associate with it. I even had a red leather jacket and white glove as a kid. My Mom says it's just like when Elvis died. So sad!

What? He's gone?? Yikes. I must be living under a rock. I remember I had a crush on him in the fifth grade. I remember my friend had a poster of him standing next to Brooke Shields. Ah...the strange memories we carry with us!

it's sad, isn't it? no matter how you perceived him, no one can deny his great talent. i remember my mom saying at the time of his Billie Jean phase, "If I could dance like that, I could eat all the cheesecake I wanted...." Too true.

Yes, I am very sad. Not just sad for his family, but sad we will never get to see him perform again. Never get to hear him sing again.

So sad. His memory will live on. Best song-my personal favorite Thriller!

The Good Ole Days...that man could dance! He will be missed!

Maybe I'm the odd ball here, but while he was talented, he was also a very questionable person. Anyone remember that he went to court for things he was accused of doing to young boys? While it is sad when ANY person dies, I won't be one of the ones looking back and saying that it was a "great loss".

Every day there are TRULY wonderful people that die that the world NEVER hears about. People that help all of humanity...not just someone who is a good singer or dancer.

Sorry if that offends anyone, it's just this one person opinion.

Thank you, Julie. I totally agree!

Feeling like my childhood is disappearing bit by bit!

I guess this happens with every generation.

He sure was a talented man.

Great tribute! It's really so hard to believe. Just another reminder though that life is short, but eternity is forever.

Sad, sad day. I am so a child of the 80's and have so many memories that are centered around MJ songs. In 6th grade BFF and I had matching Michael Jackson-esque jackets and wore parachute pants. Sadly, true story. We thought we were hawt shit. Little did we know;)

I guess that I never realized how much I really would miss the thought of him just being... he was THE maker of music, dance and songwriting. I truly believe that he is the whole reason why music touches our everyday lives in so many ways. May his legacy always live within all of us... what a superstar he was. May he rest in peace.

My heart is absolutely broken over the loss of him. My dream was always to meet him. I even had a dream once that we met outside of a Pizza Hut and sat on the ground and just talked. The world truly lost a great. So so heart broken.
