Organization Station!

Like a dark cloud on a sunny day…it’s coming.  School will be starting soon, so I’ve gone into “nest” mode.  So, I’m feverishly getting projects around and organizing up a storm.

IMG_6898

I ordered this vinyl calendar from Sayitwithstyle on Etsy.  I am madly in love with it.  It’s actually printed in reverse, so there’s no lines to contend with when I erase a doctor’s appointment I missed or a bake sale that I didn’t make anything for.

IMG_6858

The baskets were 1/2 off at Jo Ann’s for $5.00!! I almost spent $25.00 for EACH at an online store a few months ago.  Glad I waited!  These will house my kids’ library books and all that excess paper work they bring home.

IMG_6861

Of course, they’re just meshy enough to be able to show off my collection of file folders.  Oh, the choices.  The pen holder was actually a bright purple locker basket from Target.  I spray painted it (duh) and rigged it to the wall with some screws.

IMG_6865

I am madly, madly in love with this view from the back door.  It says, “This house is organized!” as you step over the pile of shoes to get to the kitchen.

IMG_6872

OH wait.  I feel like something is missing.  Oh yeah…labels.  Otherwise, how will they ever know?

Don’t forget that you can still enter the fabulous giveaway from Rhonda!  It doesn’t end until Wednesday!

My BBC just started kindergarten and I realized with all the papers going back and forth that we need something like this. Thanks for not making me create it all by myself! Love it!

Totally jealous! I am no where near an organized person. Never have been. Things are SLOWLY, yes, slowly getting better. But the slower the better it sticks...right?? Yeah, that's what I thought! ;)
I love love it! How do you do it??

Oh my goodness, I love this ! I am so inspired. My daughter has already brought home so much paperwork after only three days of kindergarten, and I'm drowning. This looks like the perfect solution !

Oh - that vinyl calendar is absolutely perfect. Your post about the kitchen cabinets/baskets encouraged me to reorganize my cabinets, but I still can't find anything because I don't have the cute labels yet.

It looks great! I want one of those calendar things. I’ve already checked out the site and have it book marked. I know what you mean about nesting b4 school starts back, only I don’t have children (yet). I’m the one going back to school. My house is a mess and it’s driving me crazy. I’m really bad about picking house work over studying so I need to get everything done b4 Thursday so I don’t procrastinate on homework to do house work.

I am so jealous of this area in your house. I have always wanted to have a nice organized area like that. Now I am trying to think of a place in my house where I can do something like that --- maybe my next house?

You are so organized, girl! And it's looks really cute to boot. My next house will have a mudroom all organized like that.

That looks amazing. I like the cabinets with the hooks and cubbys to hang your backpacks and jackets. I wish I had a room like that. Are they called "mud rooms?" You did an awesome job. So those mesh hangin things, I found them at the Dollar Tree. Do you have a Dollar tree in your area? They even have the cup holders.

Merritt said...

Too cute! I'm totally ordering that calendar. Question though, where did you get the frame? Is it just a regular frame painted that color? Custom order? Deets girl!

Brenda Pruitt said...

I really like this idea of the calendar. I went to her Etsy shop and looked at it. Trying to decide where on earth I'd put it! Thanks for the tip.
