Festive-wear Friday!

For the past couple of years, I have peer pressured asked my co-workers to participate in Festive-wear Friday. Otherwise known as Ugly Sweater Day.

DSC00229[1]

We (well, the ones that succumb to my pressure) wear the festive attire, we bring in platters among platters worth of food, and we play Christmas…errr…holiday music in between classes.

My sweater was 4 sizes too big, and my friend’s vest was 3 sizes too small.  Oh, the beauty of buying your clothes at Salvation Army.  You just never know what you’re gonna get.DSC00230[1]

They’re dumber than a box of rocks, but I sure do love ‘em!

I’m officially on Christmas break, and I can officially start shopping for Christmas.  And packing for our trip back home.  Oh…and we’re going to Disney World on Christmas day.  Looks like I’ll be packing for that as well.  Anyone know a good therapist?

I wear a vest like that every day in December, I don't see the problem?

I think it's quite stylish.

This tradition seems to be sooo popular and I just love it! Ugly sweaters need to be made fun of and you and your coworkers wear them well.

Um...Disney World on Christmas Day??? Your kids are probably jumping out of their skins with excitement! Santa and Mickey all in the same day is just too much for little fait hearts to take. Wow. I don't know of a good therapist but I know who sure is a fun mom! Can you adopt me?

We won at an ugly Christmas Sweater party last night. Got tickets to the Chief's football game for today! It pays to look ugly sometimes. My sweater was 4 times too big also and I swear I looked like an oompah loompah!

I love you ugly sweaters! We had an ugly sweater contest last Christmas with my family and I thought I'd link you to our sweaters. My son had air freshener trees on his-smelly! By the way, I am also a teacher and I love reading your blog.

P.S. I just realized I don't know how to link to a comment. Sorry!

You wanna know what's sad? At church this morning I saw quite a few festive sweaters...
And I have those turtlenecks in the attic somewhere. You or your friends want to buy them at Salvation Army prices?

O.K., first of all, I really can spell ("your" not "you"). Secondly, I linked to your post. You inspired me to re-post about our party last year. Thanks,

I think the best sweater was the red one worn by THE MAN. :)

makes me miss teaching a little bit - or at least the relationships with other teachers! You guys are funny. Have a great Christmas break!

We had that at our school last Friday and one of the Reading aides (a guy) came in in a hot pink cardigan complete with bows and sequins on it. We all gave him a very hard time.
Enjoy your break-we have TWO more days!

Cute idea. I am officially on Christmas break too and am so enjoying in only two days in. I know it will be over in a flash. I haven't been blogging much since I started teaching so I am looking forward to getting caught up.
Blessings,

Not only do I think the ugly sweater day is hilarious (I've been gifted a few), but I laughed even harder when I recognized some of my old RHS teachers and Jared (at least I think that's him). He really rocks out that sweater and turtleneck.

How awesome you have gotten everyone in the Christmas spirit!!! Looks like so much fun! My office isn't that fun.

Jerri-Lea said...

Our staff wanted to try that but we have 75 on staff and the thrift store didn't have enough for all of us... maybe next year!
How long are you in Disney?? We'll be there the 30th to the 8th!
