The Dining Room (said with echoes)

Sorry…Blogger is having issues with comments, and I thought they’d be fixed by now.  They’re not.  Grr.

Let’s take this reveal back to the beginning, shall we?  We were just getting ready to attack it, so I wasn’t particularly concerned with lighting.

IMG_0858

It was a green room with black furniture.  It was a pebble in my shoe, a thorn in my side—we didn’t get along well.

IMG_0854

Prepare yourself for some pictures ‘cause I’m pretty happy with it.

Oh sure.  It’s not completely finished yet.  I’m looking for a new chandelier (pendant), and I can’t seem to find a vase for the arrangement that works.  It’s temporary.  I need to hem the curtains, but I’m simply too lazy.  Soon enough.

I will say that adding trimwork to any room can make drastic changes. Even without any accessories, it was galaxies better than what it was before!

I’ll come back with some details about the project. For now, I’m simply enjoying the fact that it’s done.  Almost.

Oh Chris ,
doesn't that beautiful white trim just change the whole feel of the room , it looks so beautiful.
I think chandeliers are the hardest part at least ones that don't cost a fortune, good luck finding one you like .

Absolutely beautiful! Can you please come to NJ and decorate my home? :o)

I actually like like the curtains like that. Maybe it reminds me of the hems on elegant dresses you see and wish you had a reason to wear one. I think a splash of color in the form of a tie on the curtains would be just enough. Just my opinion though.

Fantastic! You have such great style. You are the blog that I visit at least once a day...if not 2, 3, 18, :)

Did you by chance paint the picture on your wall in the DR? It looks like something fabulous that you would create.

BAILEY said...

This is beautiful. I want to do wainscoting to my bedroom in a few weeks and I love the height you have it at. Did you also take your base molding off?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks.

Unbelievable transformation! You are correct, what an amazing change with a fresh coat of paint and wood trimming. Also great selection of carpet color, very soft and goes very well with the color scheme you selected. Can't wait to see your final product, but looks amazing as it is! Keep it up :)
