Shopping and a Contest

Well, I’ve done something I NEVER do. I entered a contest. And by “never”, I mean the last contest I entered was never ago. A very sweet reader (Hi, Jenn!) has more confidence in me than I do, and she thought I should enter. So I did.

The Designer In You

I entered the bathroom (again, ‘cause Jenn told me to). Don’t worry—I haven’t forgotten about the cabinet tutorial. It’s on its way.

I also entered the dining room because the rules state that 5 rooms can be entered. I thought that was excessive, but 2 can’t hurt. Right? I’ve already linked you over there, and all you have to do is vote (hopefully positively). You can actually vote something down, but I think that’s mean. Perhaps this sensitivity is exactly the reason I’ve never entered a contest.

On another note, my BFF and I are taking a special Spring Break trip today. Can you tell where we’re going? I’ll give you a hint.

Wanna know where we’re going after that? Here’s another hint.

HomeGoods logo

It is the equivalent to Christmas morning for me, and I look forward to this trip all year. Yes, all year. Doesn’t take much for me! I’ll be armed with coffee, a camera, cash, and companionship.

My shopping list is so extensive, I’m too embarrassed to even post it. Instead, I’ll give you a little picture tour of items I’m looking for. Ooh, it’s a guessing game!

So, while others are soaking up some rays and frolicking in the ocean for their break, I am quite content with my “shop-til-we-drop” day!  I’ll be back later with a full report!

Love both your room makeovers! Sounds like such a fun day! Ikea, Home Goods, and a friend - that has perfect day written all over it. Have fun shopping! Can't wait to see what you come home with.

Oh how fun! I love IKEA and Home Goods and I live 2 to 3 hours away from both of them! ENJOY!!! Isn't so much fun to shop with a friend? My husband doesn't understand why shopping by myself isn't that much fun. You need someone to share all the fun with!

We love IKEA in this household! I saw the picture of what you are daydreaming of with the closet/office space. I'm totally in love with that idea and I'm seeing it becoming increasingly popular! :)

Enjoy your time! Happy Sunday! :)

I'm glad you entered, because your rooms are beautiful! I've already visited msn and cast my votes. Do you know if we're allowed to vote more than once? As I see it, these rooms deserve to win!

Have a wonderful day with your BFF. I'm assuming you mean the BFF who also happens to be strong, dark, and handsome. :)

I voted and good luck, some of those voters seem pretty harsh on those pictures!

Have fun on your shopping expedition!

I voted! I hope you win, and yes, the voting down option is mean. Good luck.

Drooooooool... IEKA and Home Goods in the same day is like eating dessert for dinner. Which is to say it's awesome.

Can't wait to hear what you found!

This contest seems kind of harsh with the down voting. Nearly every photo has a majority thumbs down except for yours. People are so mean.

Have fun at Ikea & Homegoods!

You are so funny, I'm exactly the same way - rejection is not my friend :) I will sooo vote for you, because I have been in love with your bathroom since the moment we met! Not only that, but I'm going to double-vote you because I'm going to do something similar to our hall bath - now that's some serious acceptance, right?

Big Embarassing Moment - where's the contest? :)

Yay! Ok, I gotta admit, I did do a couple of thumbs down, for competition sake. But I did feel really bad when I ACCIDENTALLY hit thumbs down on one that had 100% thumbs down. Ouch, talk about kicking someone when they are down. Wishing you lots of luck!!

IKEA and Home Goods are my two faves too. My BFF and I make our annual 3 hour roadtrip to Schaumburgh IL every New Year's Day so I know your joy. Have fun!!!

Fun! It sounds just like me. My girlfriend and I head an hour to Homegoods and Ikea for our every few months shopping trip. But NOW Homegoods is opening not one but TWO stores within 15 miles of me.

I think I commented on that before -I'm within 4 hours to 4 major east coast cities and yet there's still nothing out here so I have to go to those cities to shop. Argh!

Anywho - I'm ok with IKEA still an hour away. It makes me look forward to the road trip.

Oh and if I could still do an ad, let me know, thanks!

I love your white kitchen and your dining room is so pretty! I love your colors too. I might have to come to your house and steal that blue chair....
