I have left the building

It's official. School's out for summer...sing it with me, folks!! This was me and my co-workers when the bell rang.
We don't usually wear uniforms like that to school, but it WAS our last day. If you look closely, you can see my hand sticking out at the very top.

For any Jerry Macguire fans out there, you will appreciate my ride home. It was warm, sunny, kids were driving all around honking their horns...so I was looking for a song to blare and sing to myself in joy. Five minutes later (1/2 way home!) I found George Michael's "Freedom", and I was blaring it. I decided to roll down my windows and let my hand surf in the air at my very own freedom. At that very moment (during a sunny day, mind you) it started pouring down rain. I thought to myself, "typical".

However, there was always this morning. This was me when I got up at 9:03am.

Now, I am just looking around my house trying to figure out where to start. It's a hole right now, and I'm about to attack it--just as soon as I catch up on some General Hospital (I know--make fun of me), take a 47 minute shower, and DON'T do my hair for days.

I will, however, leave you with this. For a high school teacher (we don't get bombarded with gifts nearly like elementary teachers do), I think I made out quite well. I'm one of the lucky ones. My 4th hour got together for the carnations, and they made me a huge poster with pictures and signatures. What high schooler even thinks to do that? Pretty amazing, in my opinion. And, hello? Target gift card? Do my kids know me or what?!
The best gift of all is something like this. I've saved every one of them.
Here's to our summer together, friendly bloggers!

**Edit Alert! I would like to make it very clear to my blogging population that the Yankees picture in NO way represents the fan base of my household. My husband was "upset" to say the least that THIS is the picture I had to choose. I will make it very clear that we are Tigers fans. Gees.

Congrats! I would love to be off for the entire summer...oh the things I could accomplish. You should do before/after photos and lists for us. I love that! Just to show how much you've done (will do). Happy Summering!!

Yay for school being over!

So much to do and so little time!

You made out really well. I got a milk shake from Chick-fil-a...does that even count?

Chris, I love love love that handwritten note in the pink and green. Is that not the sweetest thing, and don't you remember writing that way, too. You must have made quite an impression on them -- I don't know any high schoolers that do that today! Enjoy summer -- 'see you' on yours and mine! ;)

Woo hoo! I would be right there with you, George Michael and all! Reminds me of the time I was riding along without my kids one Sunday morning on the way to church, sun was shining and Prince (Diamonds and Pearls) was blaring on the radio. Life was good, until I saw the red lights flashing in my rear view mirror. Dang! Kill joy!

Happy day, happy summer!

Love GM "Freedom" - what a great song to let the windows down to! You got some nice things - those shoes are cute!! And Target gift card, that would be all I need! I never thought to do that for high school teachers..I did send a note to my favorite teacher years later, maybe that counts a little.

Enjoy soaking in bed mornings till a project pops in your head..I'm sure you'll be organizing something soon!!

I think the first picture could be a little bit better - the Boston Red Sox perhaps? :)
