Are We There Yet?

Remember how this inspired this? Well, I have these grand plans of painting it, but it's cold--an old man froze to death in his own house, cold. No joke. Needless to say, that has kept me from braving the elements in the name of paint.
Of course, our basement isn't finished off yet...it'll just be covered in carpet someday anyway...I'll pop the windows open for ventillation...yeah, you can see where this is going. I found these for half off at the dollar store the other day! You know how much that makes 'em? Yeah, I don't either, but I know they were cheap! Some primer and a can of candy green paint oughta take care of that for ya!

I was a little nervous about finding just the right baskets for the drawer size, but Michael's came through for me. They had these for 1/2 off. At $9.99 a piece, I thought that was pretty good.
What's that? They don't match my floor, you say? I know. I went to Lowe's, bought some stain, and was ready to go. Then, my friend told me just to water down some paint and go over it until I have the look I want. Uhh..yeah. I totally knew that. Thanks, Layla!

Holy crap! If you've ever been unhappy with your basket color, try this. It seriously looks like that was the stain on there! I did a little happy dance over that one! Well, this is just a sneak peak. I was all ready to show off the dresser tonight, but my husband had other plans. One more step, and I'll/he'll be ready!

Thanks for the basket tip! I'm always picking up a few baskets here and there, but then they never seem to quite match. Why didn't I think of watered down paint? Love your blog. I picked up hand sanitizer for teacher gifts today!

I bought some spray paint tonight and went to town, but am not completely happy with the color it turned out. Keep up the great work! =)
