What is it about kitchens?

Sorry for the slow down on blogging. I had parent/teacher conferences this week, and it kept me busy. Also, it's wrestling season. My husband coaches our high school team and my son's youth league. I'm having a really hard time balancing it all, and blogging has suffered. Bear...bare...bayer :) with me.

In order to make myself feel better about not having enough time, I decided to waste much of it this week by looking at kitchens. I don't know about you, but I'm obsessed with them! I've professed my love for white before, so it shouldn't be a surprise to see that this is my dream kitchen.

Well, at least I think so. I'm in love with this one too.
Oh dear. I can't forget about this one. How's a woman to choose?
What's even worse is that I've decided that when (not if) I win the lottery, I will have two kitchens. One will be my summer kitchen (see above) and the other will be my winter kitchen (see below). There's no "on the fence-ness" about this one. My winter kitchen is unanimous. Look at this gorgeous specimen!

Don't you just wanna invite everyone over and drink hot chocolate? I wanna take a nap on that countertop. Yum-EEEE! Now. Just so you don't feel deprived of "winter kitchen" selections, I've included some pretty amazing 2nd and 3rd placers.

They're so beautiful, they feel like a warm fuzzy blanket wrapped around you.

Well, it's not some big project I've been working on, but it DID take a lot of time to find these. If you enjoyed the eye candy HALF as much as I did, it was all worth it!

I love the summer white kitchens too. I think I like the first and lsat white one combined. I like having my sink overlooking the window so I can pretend I'm NOT doing dishes. I love your idea of having a winter kitchen too! I never thought of that. Wouldn't it be amazing to have two in your nice and cozy home? One thing that really made me think "wow" was the kitchen bar with stools where I could imagine lots of conversation and laughter while memories are being made baking cookies and mixing up yummy hot chocolate. If you invite me to sit on one of your stools, I'll bring the big marshmallows!!!

Happy Dreaming...

LOVE those kitchens!!! I want my kitchen to have a window at the sink so I can look outside and ponder as I stand there. My sink now, if I were to put a window in, would look into the bathroom! Hmmm, won't work! I love having a white kitchen...some people think it's too stark but I really enjoy it. It's becoming part of my simple living! Thanks for sharing today~

Ooooooo!!! Those are all so pretty! I think I like the last one the best, though! :)

I would just like the house big enough to hold any one of those kitchens!!

I love the 2nd and third ones!! How pretty. Sigh. I don't think my kitchen would ever be that clean even if I had one of those tho!

Absolutely adore these kitchens! You know, my Grandmother actually had a Summer kitchen also referred to as her "canning kitchen". It was ALL WHITE and very bright and cheery. She spent most of her time during the Summer months canning all of the vegetables and fruit in this kitchen. Her everyday/winter kitchen had hard wood floors and a wood stove. Talk about Americana huh?

You had me at #1. And by the time I'd seen all the rest of the amazing kitchens, I'd have to say #1 is still my favorite.
Sorry for your overly hectic schedule lately. I was just lamenting about that last week. My comment was, "In a perfect world, all we would do is create and blog." Ha ha...as if! : )
Hang in there.

I love kitchens too! I think it's because we are such foodies at our house so we spend alot of time in the kitchen! My husband does ALL of the cooking, and I would kill for a big island for him to cook on someday! I am hoping to win the lottery too!

Well, WHEN you win the lottery, you could just pick three kitchens. One for your current home, one for the beach home you could build (summer kitchen) and one for your lovely log cabin in the mountains (winter kitchen). That's what I'm gonna do WHEN I win the lottery!!!

Oh my! I want the second and fifth kitchens. I like the all white, but I need contrast so I like the stainless and dark countertops. And then number 5 is just so pretty with all those wood cabinets. Some day, I WILL redo my kitchen and figure out how to cram one of those kitchens into my small area. Maybe knock down two walls instead of the planned one. So what if the kitchen is half the house? haha :)

I think they are the "heart" of the home and so we want them to be wonderful.
Good luck on getting the one of your dreams...it hasn't happened for me yet.. but I am still hanging on to Hope:)
Fondly, Barbara
PS...I here you on the whole conference thing...I don't think I like them but then as I meet with my parents I begin to love putting together the pieces of the puzzle of each of my students.
Enjoy MLK day off..

I love white kitchens! Those look amazing and I am keeping my fingers crossed that you win the lottery.

OMG....their absolutely gorgeous! Did you know that I am going to win the lottery also? Ya, I have many dreams of having a lovely home with FIVE kitchens. That's right "5". Your pictures were great fun to look at and dream. I think I will take a nap on your 2nd kitchen counter too. You know, that means the rest of my Sunday will be spent Googling a thousand kitchens!

Hey! It's me again! I just read your kitchen post!!! We're meeting with someone to discuss remodeling our kitchen from 1978 on TUESDAY! Oh Happy Day! It's just the first step, I know...but it's one step closer!

I love the natural stone and dark wood elements on some of those kitchens! Thanks for the inspiration!

I have kitchen envy too & am looking forward to a little update in my kitchen on of these days (hopefully this year), when I change out my countertops & sink. I have white cabinets & really love the contrast of black countertops (like these pics), so that is just about what I will go with. Love to see beautiful kitchens like these!

Hey Chris, I couldn't find any "word" ornaments locally here either for V-day. There were tons around for Halloween and Christmas! So I ordered them online from www.primativesbykathy.com. Good luck with that! : )

Your summer kitchen choice is actually one of my friends kitchens! She designed her house around a kitchen she found ~ no kidding! Great minds think alike!

Love those kitchens......I couldn't decide either!

Thanks for posting those gorgeous pics. I, too, am dreaming of my white kitchen. Indeed, I have an entire file folder of white kitchens! The idea of having a winter kitchen had never occurred to me... but I am quickly getting used to it. And I think I need one just for December through February - with all of the cabinetry painted red, topped with white marble countertops. I'd be willing to sacrifice my husband's garage...

I love your blog!! And I wish I could have one of these kitchens too!!

Great kitchens! I love the look of a white kitchen too.

I was wondering where you were...definitely sounds busy lately at your house. At least you have a good excuse. I've just been lazy. :o)

I just came across your blog. I have been scrolling through your posts and had to comment on this one.
I too have this obsession with kitchens!
I love to look at where others prepare their meals, and I drool over the large ones, like what you pictured in this post!
A fall and summer kitchen would be great to have...but sadly it is only in my dreams!
