I'm sick. My throat feels like I'm swallowing razor blades wrapped in sandpaper. My body feels like it's going through a meat processor. Get the picture?
However, I'm not one to miss a party. I might be late for a party, but miss one? No way. Wendy over at The Shabby Nest is having a Taming Kid Clutter party, and anyone with kids will be running like madwomen to see all the ideas! Now, I'm not one to claim I can write a book on how to tame clutter, but I do know this...everything must have a place!
Here are some of those "places" for my kids clutter.
Key word: BINS. Bins for everything. A bookshelf filled with bins immediately turns into a toybox for all those microscopic Polly Pocket shoes. I keep this bin organizer in our hall closet downstairs. The secret is to recycle so that the kids' favorite toys of the moment are easily accessible when they're playing.Art supplies? No problem! Stick 'em in some cute little dollar section buckets from Target and add some labels to them. It's almost fun to organize when you can make it look cute!

Love the ideas! I have awhile until this is needed in our family, but I can definitely start on my own supplies!
I love everything you have going on there!!! especially those little tags you have on everything and those glass jars.. i totally love glass jars lol
Oh, feel better soon!
I agree about bins. I love how you organized the art supplies in the buckets and jars. I want to do that with MY crafting supplies. :)
Love these ideas! Especially the kids art organizers!
I LOVE the jars with the puffy stickers. I gotta try that. And of course I love the labels. I'm going to be crafty in no time reading all of these crafty blogs.
Feel better.
: ( Wishing you a speedy recovery and kids who can entertain themselves while mommy gets some much needed rest!!
I hope you feel better soon. I rotate all the toys in our house. I store sets together in mesh laundry bags so the little pieces stay together.
Great ideas, I love the bins and buckets. Feel better soon!
Darling ideas. They'd work in my craft room too. Mimi
Thanks! Such cute ideas... you make me want to organize... (that's quite a feat)!
Oh I love the first cabinet you posted. May I ask where you bought it at? It looks like the perfect solution for book and collectibles.
man, your stuff looks fun! I wanna do that!
OH MY, I hope you feel better real soon. I hear the bug has been making it's way through the blogging kingdom. You are a real trooper to post even when sick.
Kathleen
Beautiful! Where did you get the bookcase in the first picture? I'm looking for one to house the toys/clutter in the boys room.
OH girl. I'm getting over the same exact bug.

You are so talented! It doesn't look much like clutter to me! Hope you're feeling better soon!!
Thanks for the ideas, I'm off to visit the party.
Oh, and I'm hosting a giveaway on my blog featuring your gussied-up hand sanitizer. I'd love it if you'd stop by and leave a comment. The giveaway is in honor of my 100th post and I'm attempting to get 100 comments!
Hope you feel better. Arg, a meat processor? Razor blades wrapped in sand paper? Yikes. Sounds like a horror movie. Feel better soon Chris!! <---I had originally typed "Christ".
You have some really good ideas. I really like the idea of having the toys in the hall closet and rotating them out. I may have to rearrange my hall closet and try this out. I hope you feel much better soon. I am really into home remedies so try putting some peroxide in your ears (one at a time) and let it bubble. Supposedly it kills the germs, colds often reside in ears. It really works. Repeat the peroxide treatment every two-three hours. If you try it let me know. Get plenty of rest.
Wow, sick Girl...I am uber impressed with your organization skills!! And all so pretty to boot!!
Feel better. Lots of water and hot tea with lemon.
Strep is going around ... I'd suggest a trip to the doc. I don't need you down for any amount of time ... I mean how am I supposed to get ideas for my house if you can't blog for days?!
((((HUGS))))
Your blog is SICK!!!! In a good way! I love it and am passing it around as we speak!! Great ideas!
Great ideas!! May I ask where you found those cute little jars with the silver lids? I have some of the bigger ones you have but I love the smaller ones too in the photo. A girl can never, ever have too many glass jars and those are so perfect for all the foamie shapes.
Gosh, I so need to organize my kids's stuff. Thanks for the great idea. I'm not sure how I found you, but I'm sure glad I did. :)
Another great option for kids artwork is take photos of them and then give them away to the grandparents. 1) you get to keep the pictures for prosperity sake 2) the pictures take up no room and 3)you shift the guilt to the grandparents in regards to actually throwing them away.
Do you have a slight case of OCD? Because I have never seen someone so organized, especially with the kids' stuff, which is a good sign by the way. :)
I love the different colors of bins. They're so pretty!
Chris,
I would love to "steal" your idea of labeling these fabric bins. I recently purchased some of the same ones for our new playroom shelves (post coming tomorrow) and I need to label them for my daughter. If you don't mind letting me copy you, can you please tell me where you purchase the round labels from? I am guessing I can find them at an office supply store but I know you like to save money so perhaps you know where I can get them on the cheap?!?!
Thanks,
Desiree
