The Bathroom During

Okay.  I think I’ve held you off long enough.  The case of the missing hammer kept me from getting three more things hung up today.  I guess they’ll just have to make it into the next post.  Finally, ladies and..err..ladies!  I give you one final before.

IMG_2360

And here are your “afters”.

IMG_5084

IMG_5064 Our deck is right outside this window, and I have always struggled with the window treatment here.  It’s always been such a dark room that I never wanted anything to block any of the little sunlight it gets.

IMG_5094I bought some burlap for $1.49 a yard and made these little cafe curtains for it.  I like how it offers privacy, but it still allows the light to filter in.  Notice how I caught that in this shot?  We’re talking professional here, people.

IMG_5074

I have decided to change out the music sheets, but I’m just not in the mood.  I like the concept, but it needs to be tweaked.  Someday.

IMG_5076

This white cabinet was one of the first things we bought in this house.  I’ve had it for 5 years, so I wanted a little change.  It had to be rustic-fied.

IMG_2362

I had no idea what would happen if I sanded it, but I just went for it.  I took my handy dandy sander to the edges and wore it down a bit.  I found some new knobs at Hobby Lobby (1/2 off, of course), and stuck a few different decorative pieces in there.

IMG_5097

The frame says “Home” and “Hobby Lobby”.  Yes, they are synonymous.

 IMG_5099

There it is.  It may have sent me to the hospital and caused some MAJOR sighs and eye-rolling from my husband, but it totally did what I wanted it to do—brightened it up in there.  I’ve got a list of things I want to do still, but first I have to buy a new hammer!  I’ll be back!

yes, rustic-fied looks fabulous! Luckily my kids know how to rustic-fied things around here! Our coffee table/toy box is well 'antiqued' thanks to them!

Love your little table, it fits there perfectly! Sorry it sent you to the hospital, though!

Beautiful job! Love the burlap curtain and the distressed cabinet.

I like the music paper in the frame. It is unique and goes well with the lighter look. You could add a little something in the middle, like a monogram or medallion or something.

I love it! I love the rustic-fied! Everything looks nice rustic-fied! It looks awesome! Despite the eye rolls and sighs!

Oh my goodness, I love it!! Okay, first of all, I love the color. When you said the top pic was the 'before', I was like, "NOO! I love the blue, don't say you changed it!!" Then once I scrolled down, I loved the new color.

Then, when you showed the cabinet, and said you changed it, again I was like, "NOOO!! I love it!!". Again, in the next picture, I fell in love with the after. Who knew that cabinet could get better?? I totally need to trust you from now on. :)

Now, I have a question for you. Do you LOVE my DRAMATIC writing?? lol.

Seriously though, I love it all.

OH YA!! I almost forgot. I LOVE the curtains. I'm gonna have to copy you. For sure.

Ugh, seriously. Stop! I can't keep seeing these things! It's like crack-- er, what I think crack would be like? Now I need to go change out my bathroom.

I love it. ESPECIALLY the cabinet. ESPECIALLY the little side table. EXTRA ESPECIALLY the window treatment. Love.

Love the curtains! Did you do the grommets yourself? Maybe you could just use the sheet music to cover the mat. I have done that and loved it! Great job and no, I haven't spray painted curtains... YET!!

Very nice and bright. I love the burlap. Do tell how you made the curtains, I have lots of burlap that I want to make into curtains.

Well done. Isn't it fun to see a project like this come together in such an attractive way? I especially like your choice of big grommets on the little cafe curtain. Bold and daring and cool, which seems to reflect your personality. One thought for you: wonder what it would look like to paint the inside back panel of your little shelf? Just a subtle bit of color so that your accessories would "pop"? Might be fun. Or, of course, you could decoupage sheet music to it! :)

Thanks so much for sharing with us.

I'm soooo impressed with your creative decorating, organizing, and bargain shopping skills. My young one was asleep when I found your blog and I spent the entire two hours going through almost every one of your posts over the past year. I could not tear myself away from your blog! I have even bookmarked several of your projects I want to attempt myself someday.

The bathroom was beautiful before but it truly amazing now! I'm looking forward to more of your amazing projects!!
