No, I can’t. I can, however, draw a straight line (with a ruler) and some circles (with cans). I found these little canvases at Big Lots for $3.00 each and thought, “What the heck”.
I’m redoing my daughter’s room, and these retro trees fit perfectly. Lucky for me, the simple lines of these trees were easy for me to do.
I used some different sized cups, tins, etc. (whatever I could find) to make an outline for these circles. Then, I just filled them in with a paint brush.
For all the little circles, I used round sponge brushes I bought at the craft store. They are, perhaps, one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. They’re so easy to use, and it seems like I’m always painting a circle somewhere!
Okay, so it’s not Van Gogh by any means, but they’ll look really cute in her room! Once they’re up and on display, I’ll show you! Not bad for $6.00, I guess.

Great job! I was trying to make wall art on my own for the new baby's nursery and all I could come up with was framing scrapbook paper :-( Although I am reusing frames that I painted and will be hanging them with ribbon so that is creative, right?

I Love these!
Cute! And I agree, the cheapy brushes are always so much better than the expensive ones (unless you're doing watercolor or something like that of course). :)

I love them. I have been wanting to do something like that. I have several questions...like what colors did you use?? and did you paint the canvas first??? Thanks for you wonderful project. I may copy you in a sense if I can.
Wow, those are cute! You're more talented than you know!
Cute! What a fun project! I can't wait to see them on display in her room.

Your Arts and Crafts Projects here are amazing! How is it that you can be so artsy without drawing a straight line with no ruler?
Soo... this blog is why I love blogging. You are full of all kinds of great ideas!! I've been absent recently and am just 'getting my feet in the water' again. Love all the things you've been up to, especially with the 4th! Come visit me for some BIG news!!!
OMG, those are GREAT!!!! they look very Pottery Barn Kids or Land of Nod... if you had just shown them to us and not told us where they came from, we would have never known... BRAVO!!!
Those look adorable!
I think they turned out just darling!

They are VERY cute! Not bad for 6 bucks at all!
You got a good deal on those canvases, they would be $10 at Michaels! Very cute artwork, it beats a preframed thing any day :)
Hello Pottery Barn! The canvases look so cute!
Carrie
Those are ADORABLE. Perfect kids' room art. Simple and cheap!
Freakin' adorable! You should sell them!
That is so cute!
I gave you an award on my blog: http://madebyjaclyn.blogspot.com/
You make everything look so easy!
Very cute!!

Props on the great paintings! How were you planning to hang them? Have you thought of ribbon? I saw this http://www.flickr.com/photos/dudadaze/3507144161/ and thought that might be fun for a girls room. As Mom to one dear Son, I never get to do anything with pink or ribbon. ;0)
wow! so cute!!!! i love the pink and green!
Very cute! :)
Oh I love it! The colors are fantastic.
I seriously love this and want to try it! This is really cute!
adorable.
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE it! I am leaving right now to go and buy some canvas for me to try! Thanks for sharing.
Now see ... I'd NEVER buy a canvas because I would think I could never really do anything with it. I can't paint either. But look at that! Cute as can be. And I bet they are perfect for your daughter's room.
SO cute!! I need to fix my bloglines - you never show up anymore. Didn't want you to think I was ignoring you Oprah - I know you are my money "tree." Get it, you painted "trees," get it? By the way, I have a cold so the drugs are making me think I'm funny when I'm not. -Gayle.
These are soooooo cute! What a great idea!
Great Job! It "just" takes that first step to realize how much you can accomplish!
Very very cute!!!!
Very Cute!
I love your paintings. The simplicity of the designs is wonderful. Cannot wait to see them in your daughter's room.
I love them! I was just watching a color splash episode on hgtv and he was talking about how all of us can paint a picture. I was skeptical but after seeing yours-I'm thinking maybe! I have a wall in my master that needs something and I don't know what. Maybe I will venture. We'll see.
They look better than okay, they're fantastic, and completely unique, which is the best part of all. For $6 you can't even buy a picture frame. Great job!
LOVE the paintings!!!!!
They turned out so cute. I bet your daughter will love them.
They actually came out nice. Just perfect for your kids' room. And you are very creative indeed. :)
Hi Just a Girl,
This is my first visit and I came
over from a link from Kimba. I think your trees are adorable, and so clever. I am sure your daughter will also love that mommy
made them just for her.
Keep up the good work. I always say where there is a Will, there is a way to make your home beautiful.
Blessings, Nellie
LOVE THIS IDEA!!! Looks like something you'd buy out of Pottery Barn for $50 a canvas. So clever!
Super Super cute!
Those are so cute! They look like something you'd find in a children's boutique....love them! And I'm lovin' the price too!
Oh, those are super cute!
