1/2 Projects Post

I blame the following for this post:

  1. Thanksgiving
  2. Black Friday
  3. Out-of-town guests
  4. Fatigue

I called my in-laws and made them drive two hours to help us my husband hang our garland outside.  Well, they were coming out here anyway, but I might as well put them to work if they make the drive, right?

IMG_8463

All that work I watched they did, and we were short 6 feet of garland.  Therefore, no pictures of the outside.  I put up my garland on the fireplace.  However, I didn’t put away my Thanksgiving decorations.  Notice the juxtaposition of sparkly pumpkins and Christmas evergreens?

IMG_8481

Well, since I can’t show you the fireplace, how about the Christmas tree?  Well, here’s the bottom half of it…

IMG_8484

and here’s the top half of it.  You’re looking at three strands of lights, by the way.  We ran out at 8:47 at night to get more.  Fingers. are. crossed.

Luckily, I go back to work tomorrow.  I’ll have plenty of time to get things done, now.  If anyone is disappointed with the lack of eye candy in this post…please see the numbered list above.  Thank you.

You are so funny! I am right there with you. Half my decorations are up, the other half are scattered across the house. Ugggh! Your post made me smile...that's better than a picture of a beautifully decorated house!

so funny! I feel your pain. My hubby bought a big screen tv Friday and the kids decided to put it up and the Christmas tree (helping mom out)...

I now have a pile of fall in a corner...half a decorated tree...and boxes, remotes, wites, manuals etc...everywhere else.

Back to work tomorrow means it will look like this until maybe the 17th??

Well half done is better than not done at all. It is not December yet so you still have plenty of time to decorate for the holidays. I for one am done but need to do my after Thanksgiving before Christmas home overhaul. Now we get to rearrange things and make sure everything we buy can fit places.

I was off an entire week, had a LONG list 2 do. Did not get a lot of projects finished for starting new ones! LOL I did however, get the tree decorated, the mantle (still needs something), a wreath made and hung. So all in all it was a good week, filled with family and friends. I put the tree up for an entire day without decorating it. Was just too tired by that point! And back to work I go today.

Ha! Well, at least you're half way there ~ it just happens to be half way on each individual thing, but hey . . . you're half way there! Yay you! : )

I'm with you! Tons of things started, none finished, here come more too...*merry* christmas :)

It seems to be the theme here too. my lights are up...but part the strand is dead. All my bows from last year are orange..so they went in the trash. My new wire tree for outside has a dead layer of lights. and I need 3 more extention cords, and 3 more strands of lights for the bushes. Oh, and my tree(fake) is in the mail. And it all needs to be ready for Sunday. 'tis the season.

Too Funny! I totally have been there! I am glad to see I am not the only one who still has to put christmas lights on my tree, strand by strand!

Even though you are only half way thru many of your projects, if it makes you feel better, you are twice as far ahead as me. I got the Thanksgiving decor put away and the boxes out of the attic. That's all.

that's progress!

You are not alone dear...I spent one day putting up all the room decor but have yet to drag out the tree and trimmings...maybe tonight if I can get my only child left at home to help me.

I love your outside garland...I want flowing and I can't find it anywhere...where did you get it? And, where did you get your mantle garland? All I can find is skinny minni stuff! Thanks!

I feel your pain! It seems my hurry last year in putting things away has caused a horrible mess this year in unpacking. Add two little boys who want to "help" decorate and it looks like a disaster.

I feel your pain, Black Friday my dining room table was and still is full of projects for our upcoming art fair at work. The only holiday decor I have out is 3 long legged deer and a wooden santa that I bought recently at hoblob. geez ain't looking good at my house!

We all have these moments in time.

Thank you for showing us that you're really just a girl--not SuperWoman. Welcome to the half-finished club!

Hey,
Are you doing Christmas Advent with your kids this year? I'm doing a "Countdown to Chanukah" using some of your ideas from last year--and it's a ton of fun! Would love to know if you're doing different activities this year. It's fun to "borrow" (I mean steal) ideas from you.

My motto is "don't stress". We all just need an extra 12 hours in every day. I've still got some Thanksgiving stuff up. Our Christmas decorations are up. Happy about that.

So funny! I came home from shopping yesterday and realized as I walked up my walkway that I still had pumpkins lining my stairs up to my Christmas wreath. I have so many friends who decorated fully for Christmas last month that it's good to see others who are still slow in the transition from fall stuff to Christmas stuff!
