Top Projects 09

When I saw Rhoda was throwing her annual "year in review" party, I thought, "Did I even DO that many projects this year?" Apparently, I did. Here we go...

Looks like I did some organizing.

Some of that organizing involved more work than others, but it was all worth it.

Of course, there's the ever-daunting furniture redo's. So much work...
but much gratification in the end.

Remember how I got paid $10.00 for these barstools? A high moment for me.

Then, there's always the small projects. These didn't require as much time, but they weren't exactly easy. It's like I was painting while the Titanic was going down. Not the most steady of hands here.

There was a little redemption with these, but not much.
After stalking Sarah and her charming dresser, I knew I needed to have my own.

This ugly, non-functioning mudroom is a faint memory, but it's by far my favorite of the year. Thank the lord for mudroom cabinets!

And thank you for Goodwill for this $9.99 table that made me say bad words as I was refinishing it.
Alright, alright. I'm tired of showing it, but I can't ignore it. It was a big project for me, and I'm really happy about it. Have you seen this picture before? ;)

There you have it! 2009 in review! Hopefully, I can get a camera and computer that work, and the projects will continue! If not, I'll just have to draw all the pictures! You know how good that will be!

I am now a huge fan of yours! I don't remember how I found you, but I'm so glad I did. I've been wanting to paint a tree in my daughter's room, but well, we are moving next year so I don't want to deal now. But I still want to paint it blue. And the quilt my mom made for her little toddler bed has some of the exact same fabrics as your little girl's room and you helped me find the right color to paint it! Thanks! And I love the little tree paintings you did. I may copy if that's ok. She needs something on the walls terribly bad. Keep up your fabulous work and I can't wait to see what you come up with next! (I did a massive furniture redo last year too and it was killer!!)

I loved all your projects, Chris! The furniture ones are my favorite {maybe because I wasn't the one doing all that work!}, and I have some of my own furniture that is pleading to be painted.

Some of my favorite blog projects of the year were yours! Love the mud room and I have the photo of your garage saved for inspiration (one day my garage entrance will not scare visitors away... one day). Your furniture redo's were awesome! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for 2010. Happy New Year.

I can only hope that 2010 will prove to be as resourceful for me! I was set to stain our front door but between the cold weather and the kids getting sick it will have to wait. But it gives me time to contemplate other projects.
Thanks for the great inspiration.

Great projects, I love them all, but that black back door is killing me. I am still working on my Love to have him accept the idea of having a black front door. I think I am winning him over.
Looking forward to your 2010 projects.

Chris, your projects are always inspiring! So glad you did a review too. Love that mudroom and yes, we've seen that girl's room pic, but hey, it's worth mentioning one more time. In fact, it looks magazine worthy to me. It's been great getting to know you better this past year. Here's to 2010 & many more fun ones!

This is the 62nd comment in your box so I'm not sure if you would notice this. but still I want to let you know that I so enjoyed my visit today. The last picture is so adorable. I wish i can give my little girls' room that same cool and friendly atmosphere. I have been planning to do that. This post just inspired me to start the project anyways.
Thanks!

I really love the mudroom. I wish I had one. I have a pretty big laundry room but we had to put a cabinet in it for a pantry. Large new house but a small pantry. I know that a woman did not draw the houseplans for this house:) You did a lot of great projects and that painted buffet piece it to die for. LOVE IT!

I love your site you are one of the few on my favs book marks list. Your so talented. I'm glad you share it! I loved your moms kitchen when I saw the picture I was so excited. That is exactly the type of cabinets I have in my home. I have DESPERATELY wanted to paint them and paint them white, but I don't know the first thing about painting cabnites. I don't even know where to begin. If you could have you mom or you give a quick "how to" I would LOVE that! This is my BIG project I am going to tackle this summer. I hope they turn out half as good as your moms. Thanks for having a marvelous site.
