I’ve spent days scouring Craigslist in the search for a perfect credenza/desk/buffet-type piece of furniture for my “under construction” craft room. I was so bummed when I waited too long on a credenza for $50.00
The good news? I went to our local consignment store and found this bad boy for $30.00. It’s not exactly what I was looking for, but who cares when it’s about the price of a shower curtain!
I was so excited when I got it home that I tore right into it. This is what it looked like minutes later. He’s got his first coat on him now, but man does it take a lot of coats when you’re painting furniture white.
A little “surprise” that I haven’t told you (unless you follow me on Twitter!) is that I got some wainscoting put up in my dining room for Mother’s Day.
The present from my husband was that I get the wainscoting put up, and he wasn’t allowed to complain about it. At all! He did pretty well. He only slipped once. :) However, I’ve got tons of complaints about how LONG it’s taking me to paint it. Don’t you worry. I’ll save all that for when it’s finished. I should be done around Christmas.
And finally. Do you remember these pretty ladies?
Well, I finally tackled them…errr..it. ONE of them is completely naked right now. (However, I left one of her sleeves on just to keep this PG-13.) It is a pain in the chahoonga, but I’m getting pretty excited to see how it they finally turn out.
A final note. I have no idea what a chahoonga is, nor do I know what a chahoonga would look like if it were real. I tend to think and type at the same time, and that’s the word that rolled off the keyboard. Thank you.

Woman could you have more irons on the fire??? Wait, don't answer that.
I love made up words!
Can't wait to see all of these in their completed states.
Wow, you got a LOT done, and I look forward to seeing it all finished. If you need new projects when those are done, give me a call!! :D

Great finds! Can't wait to see the finished product. Have a WONDERFUL week!
I say we make the word "chanooga" just that side of dirty! ; ) You've got a lot on your plate there, Chris! Love the wainscotting and I don't blame you for jumping into the credenza painting. I'd be dying to see how it looks all freshened up,too.
wow! that's a lot so far! Can't wait to see more!

Ohh! Ohh! I LOVE your new projects! I can't wait to see the finished products! (Be it December or not!)
Have a lovely week!
I've been looking for the same type furniture. Could you scour Craig's List in our area and find it for me, please? I'm getting discouraged.
Love all your projects as usual!
awesome!
do you prime directly on top of the old finish of the credenza??? or do you rough it up with sandpaper (or something)
do tell! please!
I have been looking on craigslist for a great end table. I think may have found one, so I will be painting some furniture white soon too:)
WOWZA! Somebody's been busy. Can't wait to see how it all turns out:)
Love your dining room molding! Funny thing is that I got wainscoting for Mother's Day too...along my bathroom tub!

LOL! I don't know what that is either.
You have a lot on your plate but it will all look great when you are finished! Good luck.
I wanted to take a moment and thank you for the bento's lunch post you wrote several weeks ago.
I have been somewhat on autopilot due to a car accident, my moms unexpected passing and then trying to keep up with my college classes. Every morning I would stare at my sweet boys lunch box and be so...uninspired. Understandable I know. You are a blessing to me. He probably thanks you too. :)
PS. I just know the buffet will be beautiful.
It's looking great Chris! I can't wait to see it all come together. :0)
Excited to see the finished product!
Looking forward to seeing the finished jewels!!
MAN...What a great find on the credenza. Can you keep your eyes pealed for a make-up table? You are so amazing daughter. Now I really know why your always tired. Your hobbies are such big projects. I am really looking forward to seeing the finished credenza. That is going to be such a nice addition to your craft room. All those compartments!
Your wainscotting looks amazing. I see your are placing paint swatches up. It takes me forever to pick out paint color... love you, mom
Were you drunk when you wrote this? Maybe slahooshied out of your mind and made a bet of how to use the made of word, like "chanooga?"
Maybe like I am using the word slahooshied makes us BFFs? Yah...I thought so.
Sorry I made fun of your not getting the craigslist credenza. Good things come to those of us who are lazy, right? ;)
Oh my goodness, you are a busy bee! Can't wait to see all your finished projects!
Okay, I think you're lying. Because I see a black chair with a fantastic cane back sitting in your board & batten pic that looks so similar to the chairs you are "working on"! I love it!!! Nicely done and I hope I get a pat on the back for being a picture stalker.
Is it too late to ask for a step by step on the dresser ;) I have one almost exactly like it that is haunting me wanting a makeover.....I bought Ben Moore paint to paint my kitchen chairs (they didnt carry the metal/wood) so I bought their most expensive kind and it didn't work so now I'm a little gun shy again tackling a large piece of furniture that will hold our flat screen so obviously will be stared at continuously!!
Can't wait to see what you do with the buffet - I have a similar project in mind and could use your expertise!
I love made up words!
